SWR Productions Forum _ WarGames Zero Hour _ Suggestions by White Cat

Simply put, impressive for such an early beta release. This was a very good game that unfortunately never shined properly.

Something missing (and you probably are aware) are the ability to use hackers in command centers to hack enemy weapons armor and speed as well as your own. In the original game you were able to upgrade your own armor by 60% and enemy down by 60% creating a gap of 120%. Not sure if you can implement it at all.

Oh and you are yet to include the navy. smile.gif

Buildings and particularly units appear a bit too large. Game would be more playable (particularly with the navy) if vehicles and other units were 1/2th their current size. I suppose zero hour maps are smaller than wargames one. Even in original wargames the navy was very hard to use efficiently due to their sheer size.

By the way the original game lacked a good income system. Most internet centers ran out of cash mid game leaving you cashless. You weren't able to sell buildings either. These were the things I disliked.

I disagree with you , that game was far more flexable and had a great eco system set up , the units where not that big and gathering an army if anything took less then 5 mintues.

It is not sure, if War Games Z:H will be completed. The_Hunter stated he will definitivly go for at least one other release. Also, Navy is quite difficult in Z:H.

Hmm? What part are you disagreeing with?

The maps of Wargames were larger than of most generals skirmish maps. That means you had more room to put your units and buildings in. Of course they had less detail and were more 2d. You could see through units (particularly ships) when they were sinking. Then again it was released in 1998. That was about the same time as starcraft - a game thats entirely 2d unlike wargames.

As for my internet center comment. Internet centers did run out of cash (and were destroyable) so if you like long games of attrition with friends (spending more time building bases and units then destroying the enemy base). In the mod this is no longer a problem and that is a good thing.
