How do I extract the movies from RA1? I would like to create a tribute to RA1 and I also need to know how to extract DAT files and MIX files. Any help?

Yes, I know this is a RA3 forum, But it's close. And Remember, presicion has disadvantages sometimes....

I used to use this tool to fool around with (mod) Red Alert. I dunno about its extraction capability (or lack thereof) but here goes: http://www.childs-play-software.co.uk/

The tool is RedEdit 98 btw

Get XCC Mixer, use this tool to open the .mix files in your RA1 folder. From what I know, the movies are in MAIN.mix -> movies1/2.mix. Do note that they are all in .vqa format. You may need to convert them to actually see them, ain't sure about that.
I hope this helps wink.gif
