Quick question about the upcoming napalm bomb truck.
Wouldn't napalm burn off all the anthrax in the bio bomb truck as evidenced in the vanilla generals mission broken alliences

Afaik, anthrax comes from that toxic wreck, and that wreck has a very good HP pool.
So no, it shouldn't.

That wasn't a question about game play. It was about the conflicting logic. Thx anyway

Logic? What is this "logic" you speak of? Does it have something to do with why the particle cannons developed for ballistic missile defense can't defend against ballistic missiles?

Logic says that average soldier cannot survive even one shot from tank's main gun. I mean games are not entirely about logic.

No, you move.

Actually, if you look at the mission, they didn't Burn it out, they tried to and it still got dumped in the river.

First of all the games logic conflicted with itself. Secondly... I think the orca is the smartest of us

Napalm was intended to be able to clear toxins actually.

This was ditched later in development for unkown reasons and only hints form it remain in the game code and that particular mission

Actually, this makes a lot of sense, since in vanilla Generals the Chinese have no real way to clean toxins, while the USA Ambulance can (although I think the GLA was SOL in that area if there was a mirror match).

Wonder why it was scrapped?

In fact China can clear toxins(in Generals and its Mods), a nuke cannon's shot or a dead nuke cannon XD....However in that campain even a game should be a little realisitc, so they use napalm as any country will do to elimanite toxins(in real world, since toxins are mostly organic compond that extramelly easy to burn, and high temp aslo burn out bio stuffs).

It would not be a bad idea if the Black Napalm were able to clear toxins - due to the high level of heat emitted by napalm - so this could be restored the concept of China vs the GLA and not break the combo of Napalm Bomb Truck. wink.gif

The idea seems good, but Black Napalm will be exclusive to Mau in 2.0, which will make it limited. Maybe something with the Volatile Incendiaries?

Good point, would be a more appropriate option.

I thought Neutron weapons cleared toxins in vanilla Generals and ZH.

Or have I been playing too much Contra 008?

As far as I know, the GLA can clear toxins by simply force firing with a toxin shell upgraded scorpion.
The smaller toxin patch simply replaces the much larger one.

I would be absolutely okay if this was added back into the game. Its always kinda bugged me that the US are the only faction that can clear toxins, an dthe fact they only have 1 unit that can do it kinda erks me aswell.
if there was more depth to toxins and different levels of countering them I would love that mechanic.

Ok, frank question it is possible to code back in? (I'm not asking for ROTR, but on a personal level.)

I think so...if nothing else, you could code the fire to also have the effect that the ambulance anti-toxin spray has.

You can give the toxin puddle a code to take damage from fire alongside cleanup, or add cleanup damage type to the weapon you want.

i do remember that campaign mission where you absolutely have to bring migs to bear because they are supposed to carry special munitions that neutralise toxin. since you have had dragon tank since the first mission, it clearly demonstrated that in the finalised vanilla fluff, napalm does not fix toxin whatsoever.
but i think that is a legit question for those who are concerned with "common sense"

Actually, it did get burned out, most of it, it just leaked on a much smaller scale.
