Grizzly vs BMP Options

Hi folks.
Just want to ask what is point of adding another T0 transport vehicle in Russian arsenal in the presence of BMP? Grizzly future is bright or its just a little test before 2.0......?
Also which Russian General will have it as exclusive unit?
Are there any final plans?

Unlike the bp this baby takes near none bullet damage,
You can littarly ignore two dushkas or two kashtans and kill the collectors.It can also solo one in a 1v1

The ranged smoke messes up most defensive lines and allows for you to go in close,
So its a great "breacher" support unit, or you can use it like I do.Simmular to the bradley In shw I add in rpgs or Iglas to go in and smoke forward and gain the advantage.

Grizzly is not a transport vehicle in it's purpose, was explained a few times. Though you can still do some minor infantry assaults early in the game, as Bruce explained above.

Probably common. At the moment I speculate the reason why it was added was due to the rebalance patch Russia got with its early game weakness, being specially weak against GLA in the Early to Mid game. This unit will help alot ( hopefully).

At the moment, it's more of a support unit rather than a combat one. You wouldn't want to spam these, but having 3 in your blob does help to boast your army since they are quiet tanky.

BMP is amphibious,and can carry how much,5 infantry ?
I am pretty sure Grizzly was added because Hunter has soft spot for BTR-T,
but it is far for just being there to be cool,it can have great tactical use.
First,it has lot of durability,so you can put them forward in your vehicle blobs
to draw enemy fire onto themselves,second,when fully upgraded you can smoke
enemy to death with it,and on top of that it firepower against vehicles isn't that bad at all.
Infantry slots are bonus,so you can make it really tough stealth detector.

This is true actualy.
I have been looking for a way to include the BTR-T in some shape or form for a while but i wouldn't do so if it didn't have a proper identity of its own.
Once i worked that out i created the product you see now.

I admit that first thing I have on my mind is flag of California when someone mentions grizzly bear,
and also having on mind that there was already American tank called Grizzly Tank in Red Alert 2,
making name Grizzly a odd choice for a Russian unit.But at the end of the day,grizzly is still huge bulky beast
that must be shot either in head or heart to be taken down,which talks really much how that animal is tough,
which cannot be said for wolves,you can often see them skinny,with their ribs visible.
I got carried away,but point is that naming it by bear is more fitting.

Because it and everything else in the Russian tech tree will be receiving names that can be properly pronounced without tongue twisters in English.
No more BTR, BMP, BMD, BRDM, Msta or anything similar.

Seriously, it's inconsistent to have a T80 renamed as Kodiak while BMP3 is still BMP.

It's the name of latest tank version. All those tanks were brought to a more unified tech level - new equipment, new guns and ERA, just different base chassis. IRL there would be still plenty of difference between them if somebody tried to do that, but for game purposes, they are treated as identical.

em.. please no renaming for present units. i understand it's difficult for english-speaking people, but we have international company here(meant english is not that easy for everyone too) and as said my friend from Russia: "strange names they have: Paladin, Bradley.. we could call new bomber Obama but only for huge giggles"(no offense meant)).

Well I think so too. Tunguska, Berkut, Sokol probably won't be changed anyway.

And I think the new names would be close to NATO reporting names if there isn't one already, like the Hunchback. We already have Hind, Frogfoot, Halo, Helix right?

Grizzlies are great. I guess it's true that it's meant to be more of a tanky damage soak than a damage dealer, but you'd be surprised at the amount of damage three or four of these things do on Heroic rank. (with assault armaments)

I guess the reason those Grizzlies were able to reach Heroic despite their relatively low starting DPS was simply that they were tanky enough to last long enough.

Well, I am Czech and "Msta" is little harder over the tongue to me, thought it is actually an existing Czech word meaning "vengeance", so its not so tough

- has 6 transport slots, unlike Grizzly, which has 2
