Woah, new version is mooch better; I like it lots. You could try to improve some of the clips and the effects, but you should prolly just wait till RotR 1.5 so you can get some more updated in-game footage.
I like the choice of music as well, I recognize it, but don't remember the name; where's it from and what the song's name? Nice work. -------------------- |

I did say the first version was a draft Glad you approve. The first 30 seconds or so is all i really put any effort into. Just threw some random ROTR screenies in the rest of it. I am hoping ROTR 1.5 releases soon - before I get to bogged down in college work to do any of this. The music is the same, although I suppose visuals can change the mood of it It's some music from the Rock, I think was said. Any suggestions for scenes/clips to be added? It would be helpful if anyone who is fairly savvy in scripting could do some simple "cut-scenes" to use. As I can only do so much to a certain quality in game. -------------------- |

I think you should add more moving images, no screenshots but something like a shellmap. And you have to add music which is meant for ROTR. A bit Russian or something.

When it is finished it will be entirely gameplay footage/sounds. The screenshots are placeholders. As I said before, I do not plan to make this like a shellmap - that's what shellmaps themselves are for. The sort of thing I am aiming for is something like this or this. Russian music would not be fitting IMO. Mainly because, although the game is called Rise of the Reds. It is not just about Russia. It still includes the 3 vanilla sides as well as the ECA. That said, if you have a track to recommend, post it up and we'll see how it looks. -------------------- |

Would you like to recommend a better track? MC is a dated console game, so there won't be many that recognize it that play RotR, and I prefer it's soundrack over BF2's Although you may want a better quality version. -------------------- |

That clip @ 0:18 should be slowed down or changed, it's spinning too fast, imo.

It could do with spinning a bit slower, I will try it out for the next version.
Only problem being, when I filmed it, it wasn't just a smooth spin, a slower speeds you can see where it is kind of jumpy. -------------------- |

So are we definitely using the BF2:MC soundtrack?
Personally I am far more partial to the first, but I can work with either. -------------------- |

On second thought, I don't think the song I picked fits well enough, it maybe it's that you cut the song up so that when it opens you seem to have cut a beat in half, it sounds really wierd anyway, although I do feel that it is moving in the right direction, something similar, that has a more of a hint of GLA or China in it, and that doesn't break down into Drum n Bass half way through.
Really I suggested the song as the intro fits the suggested criteria, it has a chord ringing that sounds somewhat asian over an american themed tune. Although if you check youtube for the songs used for the BF2 loading screens, you may be able to fuse them together nicely. I dunno, they're both pretty good but I think I like the Rock or Con Air soundtrack better. -------------------- "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. Although if you check youtube for the songs used for the BF2 loading screens, you may be able to fuse them together nicely. I did, because of the way the audio is structured it would take hours to extract a section without it sounding a little odd. I don't mind it being GLA/China themed (although I find that kind of music unsuitable) but those loading screens are, well loading screen, they are not action packed sequences. As I hope this video to end up as. My personal vision for this video requires a track a lot like the one in the first post. Something with a bit of pace and build up to a climax. Not the casual loading sounds of cornfields swaying in the wind or the idle sounds from a US barracks. I want the video to really show off ROTR for it's awesome quality and gameplay. Some that captivates people and makes them want to play the mod. Like the ZH/Gens openings. The BF2 tracks you suggested just don't really seem fitting to that. I think maybe we should put the music aside if nothing as suitable can be found for now. Focus on some visuals to put into it. What sort of scenes. I'm definitely hoping to include a short clip of the Crusader going into hover mode. I just wish there was a way to alter the camera angle in-game D: -------------------- |

well i liked video, but on the end u used a lot fade in/out effect.Try different video effects.Quicker ones.To be in music type. Try to find some RL videos and blend it with red. And some march will be good to in the beginning. Can i suggest this music for first part of video and something heavier for ending?
For the first part for ending If u need any help, msg me here.I done this kind of stuff in our electro-technical highschool. and i can do it with sony vegas, adobe premiere... u name it.just send me videos and music, and i'll blend it for show. Cheers P.s it took me long time to figure this thing for you tube...X) This post has been edited by Сергеј Иванович: 9 Sep 2009, 22:46 -------------------- |

Сергеј Иванович, you're doing it wrong.
You put them the word 'youtube' in brackets, not the word 'code' in brackets. -------------------- |

My skills in music mixing are somewhat limited. I would like your help in that field. If you can come up with a kickass track (approx 1:30 max length) that we can use. If you are willing to help of course? I can do all sorta of effects, even (hopefully) to rival those in the original ZH trailer. I have CyberLink PowerDirector. Which is voted best for video editing ^.^ -------------------- |

well, sounds i can make in Sound Forge. But i prefer more After Effect. So simple to use,but it has excellent video editing and effects.
But in terms for music, i think this two song will be good for mixing. If anyone finds better song than bionic jive, send me a link to youtube to download it and to blend it. -------------------- |

Well would you be able to cook something up? I have Audicity, but it's freeware so it won't be as good (and i have no idea how to use it) I'd happily slap it into a video (and I'll take some more footage to show off my effects) -------------------- |

When you hear Hell March everybody thinks RA right away, and not ROTR. It's too linked to Red Alert.
Personally when I make video's I don't care a whole lot about nazi YT copyright policy, as I've seen if your track is not too well known you usually get away with it. Furthermore for using trailers I would suggest trying trailer music from X-ray Dog and Immediate Music. If you do not specify the music track on youtube it will be very unlikely to be taken down. I'm a bit less political correct in these cases. An avoidance of hypocrisy, I should call it. This post has been edited by Shock: 13 Sep 2009, 1:14 -------------------- |
