I have searched the forums but found nothing related to this, hope it hasn't been answered before.
My question is: will one be able to play without choosing a General for a faction? It's just cause most Generals seem to be very specialized, taking one aspect of that faction to the extreme while giving less importance to the others, but it feels weird without having a default faction which is decent at all of the things that faction is supposed to be good at but takes none to the extreme. Or will one General for each faction represent the default version of that faction? (like Sullayman representing the default GLA faction with the current 1.87 GLA strengths and weaknesses, with the other 2 generals focusing on one particular aspect of the GLA). there wont be a default faction, you must pick one. due to limitations on how many players the game will allow.
15 in total, 3 for each of the 5 factions. -------------------- |

Skitt, the 15-faction limit is only for true AI slots. ROTR uses 5 since the Generals are not their own factions but upgrades.
As for the topic, no, you cannot have a set of "default" factions since there are none meant to be. The mod so far has always been a compromise in terms of design. Many of the things that the factions can currently field together are not actually meant to be fielded together. This has always been an issue and we have always tried to alleviate it, but until 2.0 we cannot do so entirely. IF we go by a "default" system, then you can consider the Generals who are the "exaggerators" to be the default, that would be Griffon, Chen, Yusuuf, Zhukov and Willem. |

Or try Bruce's idea, go make an ini mod with boss factions when 2.0 come out as the default ones.
