With an annoying upgrade limit but a possible work around, why is the level based upgrade not used in ROTR?
Is it impossible to implement? (Old posts says ZH Toxin Tractor It can be?) What's the pro's and con's of this system in ROTR? |

What level based system? Anthrax Beta/Gamma were separate upgrades with their own death type, both of which are hardcoded IIRC

Well the vanilla games had their oddities, like how the neutron shell, battle bus behavior was coded specifically for it and how, in Generals, Jarmen and Pathfinders had two separate damage types - SNIPER and FLESHY_SNIPER, the latter being removed from ZH; but that specific behavior wouldn't function well at the current stage and from a design perspective IMO

Because it's silly that Toxin Tractors - and ONLY Toxin Tractors - did this. It's an inconsistency that made the unit special where it doesn't deserve to be special.
