As in topic title, I have heavy lags in skirmish, always if I play against or as USA
Shortly: USA s my computer very laggy. At this moment I play as China against medium USA in Harbor 3 map (6-12 FPS, I've check it with fraps, normally I have 35-50). I don't know which unit/building etc. do this. I don't know even which faction makes those lags! My computer: Ge-Force 9600GT 1gb ddr3 RAM 2 gb ddr2 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2,4 Any help? Maybe someone have same problem in past and can solve it. This post has been edited by Zakhai: 23 Jul 2010, 22:54 -------------------- |

Lag is probably down to hoards of units with bad pathfinding...

Lag is probably down to hoards of units with bad pathfinding... Maybe. I nuked Crusaders with Drones, and FPS jump to 25. -------------------- |

Harbor is a map with horrible pathfinding unfortunately. Choose a different map is my suggestion.

TBH I have no idea what the problem is. I played plenty of matches against all factions when I was finishing the map and never had this come up. When I get a chance I'll try to figure out where the jam is and hopefully the next version won't have this issue.

It is best not to pick a map with a lot of valleys, cliffs, narrow paths, or all three. I made a map a while ago which has rivers dividing the center into 3 parts, that is a 2 players map, AND it lags when I played against the AI after about 5 mins. If you played on Twilight Flame, you'll know that this map lags on almost machines of any specs because it has a lot of valleys and cliffs.
This is also a note to map makers, it's best to avoid creating too many valleys and cliffs in your map. |
