Will it be possible that the Frogfoot will make an appearance in a Russian General power?

No, the Frogfoot is gone and will likely not appear in any other form. Even if we could somehow construct a purpose for it, we would still have to re-model it in order to have a model that is truly our own and we're not going through that effort for some token ability, variant or decorational object.

Perhaps the Frogfoot could become a replacement for the Boris generic MiGs since it is an iconic aircraft and indeed appropriate to structures obliteration. I like this because it will make RotR Boris a little more unique seems like is not going to happen through -------------------- |

My only hope is that it would still stay inside the ini files.......so that we can activate it again by ourselves.....

Slightly off topic but where can I find a copy of the pre-SWR ROTR to download and play? (I read somewhere that the first version of (pre-SWR) ROTR was released and then SWR production took over...). I just want to see what the mod was like, just for curiosity's sake.
--- Ok back on topic, though I do find a bit weird seeing the Su-50 as a pure anti-ground unit, but then again... time to hunt some Overlords. -------------------- ... wait, oh s--t! I've been surrounded by raging modders!

For starting, love the somewhat futuristic yet distinctly Russian units, very well thought! The Sukol is really creative and adds extra flavor to Russia in departments they were lacking. The Hellion looks awesome, adds to the AoE (their lacking) while also contributing to Russia's signature "shit load of weapons" style with three different weapons and a ton of missiles. This is probably the best post 1.8 update so far!

I enjoy the update, and good to see a solution to the VVS was found.

The less lines of code are present in the game the less time it takes to load the game and it also slows the game down alot less. -------------------- |

If you really really really want a blast from the past.
Here is ROTR 1.0 (2005) PRE-SWR Edition. I think many people will appreciate the mod more once you play this version. Not that it's terrible it's just old nowadays. -------------------- SWR Co-Lead | Texture Artist | Modeler | Level Designer | Fan of all things Awesome |

Awesome update...a bit odd to see the Su-50 as a tactical bomber rather than an air superiority fighter but hey, it's supposed to be a multirole aircraft. Easily acceptable along with the A-10 having the old paintjob there. But seriously, nice work. The new Ka-68 sounds pretty badass too.
Unfortunately it seems that the Frog is not back... the Boris's version could only be configured with its bomb load, without rocketpods. Boris' airstrike necessitates fast, tactical fighter bombers like the MiG-29 variant it currently uses rather than slow close air support aircraft like the Su-25TM. Hence no reason to change it. -------------------- "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."-- George S. Patton

Or a dedicated bomber with tons of cargo as the Frogfoot equipped with an sturdy airframe ... the withdrawal of the Frogfoot is sad for the game but is not the end of the world, so I respect the decision of the developers. -------------------- You already imagined how would be SAP in the ROTR's universe? How Sokol will evade missiles ? Will it have barrel roll like Berkut or we'll have to rely on its stealth abilities and keep it undetected ?

Guess I would still keep 1.802 around....... Well, after testing and tasting 1.85 Russia, I've kinda lost my desire to play it in 1.802. Now it seems so... underwhelming. And that's taking into account that in 1802 I was basically living on frogfoots during the first half of the game, using them as anti-everything. (and managing to keep them alive, even). But if you're a real fan of strong attack aircraft/bombers, I recommend you to try Pre-SWR ROTR 1.0, as well. It had a nice Su-34 bomber. This post has been edited by Knjaz.: 5 Nov 2013, 17:58 |

If you are allowed to tell, how long is the cooldown of Hellion`s ability and how much damage it does compared to an actual Froogie attack? I can`t download the pre-SWR version, file not found. |

The Russian faction is OP as hell and the model back then was of low quality as of now, but it sure was nice. The havoc and Su-34 weren't bad at all. BTW, I might upload it if people need it. ^Gayfront banned people of various countries. That's why. This post has been edited by X1Destroy: 5 Nov 2013, 18:47 -------------------- We Die Standing.

I'm uploading it to mediafire, should be around for 30 mins.
It's worth a try though. The mod sure did have some interesting assets back then. -------------------- We Die Standing.

Wasn't there also blatantly OP stuff like stealth T-90s and invisible bombers with the punch of Alpha-Auroras?
The Sokol has to rely on stealth and speed in order to survive. It certainly feels more agile than a Nighthawk, has enough ammo to fly three sorties and unlike the Nighthawk, it will likely engage moving targets in the open i.e. outside a base where AA and detection assets are more likely to be encountered. As for the Hellion and its ability cooldown/damage output, we're still in the process of fine-tuning the exact stats but 1.85 will actually include an important new upgrade which virtually guarantees that your Russian helicopters -will- get their first strike on target as long as you're paying attention. |
