If you are using 3dsMax you have to export it as 'W3D Asset'.
Do your models show up in the W3d Viewer?

Here's the BFME2 SDK that has a Zero Hour compatible 3dsmax w3d exporter in it. smile.gif

Uhm, if you have the standard 3DS view it should be like that:

........................|
.....------------......|......... __
.....|.....[_)-----....|.........[__)-----
.....------------......|.....[ooooooo]
______________|___________
....... ___.............|
...... [___]............|
......[____]...........|
.......""...""...........|

'W3d Asset' is the filetype when 'File' -> 'Export'

Possible reasons for your problem:
1) You are not using W3d-Materials
2) Your Model's Name is longer than 16 characters
3) You haven't checked [x] Export Geometry in 'W3D Options'

I hope that helps (I can't provide you any pictures right now)

The directory is not Data\Art\W3D, but Art\W3D, you got it wrong in your first post there.

Hmm I can't be sure either, but might as well just play safe and use Art/W3D.

I cnanot get 3ds max to update to Sp2

also, it kind of works in renx. but it is so tiny. i need to scale it but renx is gay and shit so i cannot scale very well.

also #2, how do I make it so that in 3ds max how do I edit the material editor path so it aonly looks as far as art/textures/blah and not c:\this\thisfold\thisfold\tisfolder\blah

so i got some progress..

3ds max sp2 installer says it cannot find the reg keys even thoguh I pointed them out in the setup.ini. so direct 3ds max export is not gonna happen.

so what i do it export to .3ds and import to Renx.. scale it up about 1000 times what is imported then export to .w3d... very annoying..

now to figure out the texture path part 0__O

The texture path is Art\Textures.

BFME2MODSDK sadly only works for 3ds 7 and 8.

As for the Textures, if you are working in RenX there's a good Tutorial here.

In 3ds8 there is a Material type W3D or something which works the same.
