Well, there are a bunch of threads here that deal with this topic, but none of them have been any help.

I just got a new awesome laptop for university, and it comes with Win7. I've had no problems installing most of my stuff, and even ShockWave installed fine. However, RotR has been giving me some problems. I've tried just about everything here - running as admin, fresh install, deleting the ZH folder and everything, and it still doesn't work. I've looked in the ZH folder, and for some reason I'm supposed to have a folder named "Rise of the Reds" in my root ZH directory, but it's not there. I also don't have a file "rotr.exe" - I'm thinking that this is the result of either compatibility problems or Win7 throwing a hissy fit about security.

Anyways, when I start RotR from the start menu, I'll get a commandprompt screen that flashes up for about a tenth of a second, then disappears. I think it says that the target file is not found, meaning the mysterious "rotr.exe". Oddly enough, if I change the .gib files to .big files, I can play with the units, but the music and AI doesn't work.

Any solutions? I'll try and keep you guys updated on my progress. Before you ask, I am an admin, and I'm running both the install and shortcut as admin. I've tried redownloading and have installed it about 4 times now.

Move your ZH folder to your desktop then run the bat.

If you're using Command and Conquer: The First Decade, you might've been installing ROTR to the wrong directory.
