Hello to everybody.
I'd like to thank you for making this great mod...
However, I haven't been able to play it even once...
I carefully followed the insallation manual included in the package of version 0.95 (including reinstalling the whole game and patching it), I also downloaded the patch and installed it, everything went well.
Then, the start menu appears, I select launch and everything and then, just when the splashscreen changes from the mod's one to the normal one, the "serious error" message appears and I have to close everything. The error seems to occur when the actual game (ZH) starts to run.
I thank you in advance for your help.

This is more often than note caused by other mods not being uninstalled properly or them having unfriendly installation methods.

I have two questions:
Have you used other mods before?
Did you make sure to delete the Zero Hour folder in Program Files when you reinstalled?

If you answered yes to the first and no to the second than you probably have remnants of other mods left in your game folder.
(Also note, some mods install themselves into the My Documents --> C&C ZH Data folder and if you answered yes to both of them then this could be your issue.)

Thank you for such a quick answer!
The answer for both questions is yes, and I uninstalled and deleted all folders again and then reinstalled the mod step by step with no success...
Though, I have to ask, could it be that I'm just deleting the data files on my windows user account only? (I share the pc with my brothers and they also have save data)

Are you deleting the data files from the Program Files --> EA Games --> C&C ZH directory?
If you are, they are the global files and you deleted the right thing. However it might also be required for you to delete the files in the My Documents --> C&C ZH data folder as well as the Program Files one.

Often can a complete uninstall help. However, if you are to uninstall everything, make sure you tell your brothers to check if their folders are deleted as well, as everything of Zero Hour under the normal installation including the Zero Hour folder itself under e.g. C:/Programms/EA Games and THAT Zero Hour folder must be deleted if it remained after the uninstall. Also, the Zero Hour folder under 'My documents' must be completely deleted, on ALL acounts of the PC, including the accounts your brothers use.
Then get the program CCleaner, which is useful to delete anything that remained in the registry.
After running it, restart the system and go to your account. A better thing would however be, if you are not an Admin, to start the install of the game from the Account of an Administrator. After installation, install the ZeroHour 1.4 patch.
When that is done, install ShockWave 0.95 and its patch. If it THEN still does not work, then something is just screwed up completely, however it should work by then.

I often get this problem.

I can only launch Shw (and ZH IIRC) when all other programs are shut down. Like MSN, Firefox, etc.

If you don't have ZH as the only running program, try doing it that way.

If you are running xfire, try disabling it, that can sometimes cause problems.

I've tried all...
Uninstalled, deleted every single folder, ran ccleaner and reinstalled and patched.
Ran it with all other stuff shut down and I still have the problem...
What to do?

Where are you installing to?
What is your operating system?
Are you using TFD?
Any other detailed info would be of help here.

(Does your PC meet the minimum spec on the back of the box?)
