Multiple SWR mods?, I'm new to modding and was wondering if I could have some help.

So I've successfully downloaded and installed Rise Of The Reds and Shock wave, but separately(I deleted Shock wave to play Rise of the Reds). I saw a comment on one of the mods download files on moddb and I saw that you could run multiple mods together as long as you used the launchers. However when doing that I've noticed that if I just installed them without any intervention it doesn't work. So I then made a new file(after reinstalling Zero hour), copied Just the Zero Hour file (leaving Generals out) and tried installing Shock wave like that. Upon doing that though, Vanilla Zero Hour loaded. After that massive failure, I then tried to copy the entire file (including Generals) but even after doing that I still only loaded vanilla Zero Hour. If anyone has any Ideas please let me know.

Note: When I say Multiple SWR mods, I mean having them installed and not interfering with each other. Not trying to play them at the same time.

Have you tried having separate duplicate Generals ZH folders in your Program Files (x86) Folder? That might help (although I must emphasize that this is not absolutely necessary). You'll have to fix up the directories a bit, but it should work.

Also, I assume you are running either RotR or Shockwave from their respective launchers? Make sure your launcher shortcuts are linked to the actual executables in the directory, and it should work fine, provided you have no exclusive add-on for either mod, such as WideScreen ROTR, etc. Map packs should be fine, though.

First you should do this by creating shortcuts folder on your desktop to manage your shortcuts. Here's an image for reference.

All your modification shortcuts, as well as your vanilla ZH shortcut should go here for ease of access. Assuming you've installed all the mods (mind you ROTR 1.85 patched to 1.86 has a separate executable file from the internal build, 1.87 v1.2, in cause you're wondering why I have two shortcuts for ROTR)

Assuming you've installed Shockwave 1.201, RotR 1.85 (and patched to 1.86), and the Internal Build of RotR, 1.87 v1.2, your ZH directory should or might look similar to this:

Make sure your shortcuts are linked to the proper executable files in your ZH Directory in Program Files (x86) or wherever your ZH directory is. Take note that some of the icons may look different, but the file names should be the same.

Here are images for reference:

Your vanilla ZH shortcut should be linked to the highlighted file

Your Shockwave shortcut should be linked to the highlighted file

Your Rise of the Reds shortcut should be linked to the highlighted file
Attached File  Rise_of_the_Reds_Shortcut_is_linked_to_that_file.jpg ( 374.83K ) Number of downloads: 5

Lastly, your RotR Internal Build (1.87) shortcut should be linked to the highlighted file

I know this was long, and might be confusing, but I hope it helps, and that you can do the same as me. Good luck, Commander! laugh.gif

So it doesn't matter what my directory looks like as long as the shortcuts are linked to the right files?
