Hard Mission is hard D:
I'd taken out two twin fangs and all I had left was an ambulance, 6 rangers and a pilot -------------------- |

Ok, some words about this mission:
a ) some of the briefing are missleading, like at the beginning when your mission is to take on the airfield: it should be stated that the player has to destroy all enemy units and structures there (excluding the civilian ones), and that flag should be a target as well. b ) the opening is nice, but the bunch of units you get is everything but useful. If not heavy units, at least a Colonel Burton should come up, because this is so far as I have seen a commando mission. c ) I will update if something else comes up. Edit: I redeem my argument about Colonel Burton, the mission is pretty much possible without him, only needs a bit mor micromanagement than usual and being careful. I won with Sattelite, Emergency Repair 1 and Ammo Dump as abilities, the rest is clear. This post has been edited by KamuiK: 25 Nov 2009, 22:43 |

Im going to have to work on the briefing for my missions.lol I think it's very good for a novice. And well worked as you don't actually have any custom voice clips to work with. Another think I found slightly odd was that the whole idea of the mission is to kill the AA for air support, however one of the Generals powers available uses an aircraft.... -------------------- |

Going back to KamuiK's point - Burton might be a good idea - or just the hero in general for commando style missions.
And if you want the flags destroyed - make them target-able. -------------------- |

If you're interested CobraHumvee, here is an interesting WB test map I made to highlight a scripting concept. Basically, an Avenger targets the Kodiak, giving it status _Faerie Fire_, and that triggers the following script. Sorry, I don't have a way to upload the video I took, but here's what I did.
Script 1 = If> Object _Kodiak-1_ has status _Faerie Fire_ Then> enable _script 2_ Script 2 = If> True Then> spawn object _USA08CruiseMissileAttack_ at waypoint _waypoint1_ And> Set timer _Cruisemissile_ to 1.5 sec (or whatever time works best. this time worked previously on the MOAB, but a different time might work better with the FOAB) If> Timer -Cruisemissile_ expires Then> spawn object _FOAB_ at Waypoint _waypoint1_ on team _TeamUSA_ (Any explosive can replace the FOAB, but it creates the best boom) It would be interesting to see this in a mission, as a final cinematic, if you choose to make another killer mission. -------------------- |

Tahaha, I can imagine the Russians getting 3 FOAB's on the enemy base in the end of a mission.

Thx joshh for the cinematic idea i might use it in a future map (probably not the next one cause its already planned).
And in regards to Burton, i was going to add him originally but then i realized that a player could have attacked the Chinese main which you weren't supposed to do, and the fact that Burton would have made it too easy of a mission. -------------------- Signatures are overrated :)

the idea was to have a player guide a lone avenger thru heavy russian/chinese defenses to laze a specific target (weapons bunker, breeder reactor, something that looks really important), and then the cruise missile comes in during the cutscene. but KamuiK, your idea works as well. I'm always a fan of big booms! Anyone who reads this, feel free to try it!

Well i did really like your second mission.
I see you did improve from the first to the second Like the others already say your briefing is a little tricky. May i suggest that you post the links to the missions all in your first post. This will make it more easy to find them. Anyway keep up the good work. Best regards Wi-Ta -------------------- |

Just found time to play this and get away from MW2 since my gaming PC broken . Awesome mission. Failed in the first 2 attempts but got through with better microing. I've never used the pathfinder's binocular ability before and it really proved its worth in this mission .
------ btw i had this strange thing. My PC was up for windows restart after an update and i always clicked restart later so i can finish this mission. I was saving my progress and i was on the save menu when this restart message came and minimized ROTR. Then after i went back to the game, i could not save anymore. All i could do was to load the game when i pressed Save/Load button. However this happened close to the point where you get to save the downed crew message. Was it done in the mission or the restart message just screwed the ZH save game option. Anyway it does not matter. I finished the mission. Good job Cobra...... -------------------- |
