Welcome to a monumental update commanders! Read on to find out why! First off, we wanted to show you a WIP Changelog of the next release! A few things may change in between now and the final release, but it is unlikely to be major changes! CLICK HERE to figure out what has been changed in the past year! But that's not all! We are also proud to announce that Shockwave will be released with the power of SWR.NET, providing a united multiplayer community that will last for ages! We hope that this, along with the planned future maintenance updates, will prevent another lapse in Shockwave's activity for the forseeable future. Finally, we want to announce that the release of the next version will occur on March 16th, the 11th Anniversary of C&C Shockwave! Get ready for battle commanders, and keep an eye on our website, because the wait isn't long! |

Only tradition for it to be released on Hunter's birthday.
Will be nice to have some games, I haven't played any Shockwave for far too long. I'll see if I have some time this weekend. -------------------- |

Well, what a surprise, that was quick. Can't wait for the release.
Is it just me, but I felt that the changes are good, but not good enough - if compared to my unofficial fan patch, because it lacks changes in units' voicesets (aside the Toxin Grenadier). But it was said that there will be planned future maintenances for ShW, so maybe this is just for the initial release. This post has been edited by nikitazero678: 14 Mar 2016, 6:14 |

That felt a bit... rushed... I mean I was expecting a massive patch to balance, like from 1.85 to 1.86.

I was waiting this moment so long, but when I've read the changelog, I began to doubt that new version will be better, than old one. A half of changes is bullshit, other half is changed by wrong way, also there are no many other realy important changes. I am disappointed

QUOTE (Jie) Instead of telling us these changes are 'bullshit' or 'wrong' tell us exactly your opinion. We can't change on the basis that something is "bullshit". Indeed, I mean I remember a thread made by Squak was pointing out a few issues within the factions themselves (such as the acolyte drone issue, the bradley issue, the quad tank issue, etc.) which helps since it gives a starting point to look into. We do read the community comments too, but the issue is that sometimes the issue isn't addressed (someone may say, "OH SALVAGE IS BROKEN" without actually saying why, which although is obvious in this case, isn't as obvious in other cases.) Even though it wasn't explained into heavy detail, the message still got across and we looked into a lot of issues addressed by the community. Yes, some changes may look odd at first, but do note that there has been some PvP testing so we aren't exactly taking a shot in the dark. Even though there may be possible issues within the 1.2 Version (remember that this is the last MAJOR patch), that still doesn't mean that patches won't be happening afterwards. We have some people on the team who see these issues and we bring them up for discussion, we notice so don't worry. Enough of the rant, get excited for the new release This post has been edited by Marakar: 14 Mar 2016, 11:41 -------------------- Drop Commander |

FIRSTLY (Changes in patch 1.06):
2. What have u done with acolyte drones? WHAT THE? 3. Why special weapon haven't been changed? 4. Why quads become weaker? Helicopters are becoming stronger like in ROTR. Delirium. 5. Stealth's combat bikes. It only increased the price. I'm sorry, what? Price will not solve anything. That felt a bit... rushed... I mean I was expecting a massive patch to balance, like from 1.85 to 1.86. We've been working on this for a very long time, even before 1.85 came out. To me, this isn't rushed at all. FIRSTLY (Changes in patch 1.06): 2. Aurora Alphas pretty much already have those stats. Just for some reason locked behind a GP when there are other units that do the job much better. Acolyte Drones.. weren't mentioned in the changelog. Oops. Special Weapons didn't need any changes for this pass. She may get changes later on however if things are still a problem with her. Quads were nerfed to have the same DPS as their ZH counterparts.. except they benefit properly from salvage now, unlike in ZH where it didn't do anything due to an engine bug. Previously their DPS was much higher than ZH, which caused a huge amount of problems. Stealth Combat Bikes were way too spammable. If this is still a problem with a price nerf, I can look into additional measures, like a firepower nerf. This post has been edited by Generalcamo: 14 Mar 2016, 13:03 |

ShockWave was done years ago and this update is mostly maintance with some new models and textures thrown in here and there so no it wouldn't take long ROTR updates will be coming back up shortly too. -------------------- |

Instead of whining like some people do here (and no I don't want to start a discussion about this) I'll add some constructive comments.
I've been lurking on this forum since I discovered FireFox, which funny enough also was in 2005, I almost never post anything but I do read a lot. So hopefully my very very small comments are helpful to the team. I've read the change log and I like to mention a two double stated changes: ---Super Weapon General Changes--- -Enforcer can no longer be upgraded with drones -Enforcer can no longer be upgraded with Scout, Battle or Hellfire Drones ---Armor General Changes--- -Supply trucks are no longer required to go through the supply center to drop their payload -Supply Centers no longer require the Supply Trucks to drive through them Not something big but it might make the text just look a bit better when you merge those double changes. Looking forward to the update. Are you still going to organise streams? I loved them! *hums Flight of the Valkyries* |

Are you still going to organise streams? I loved them! *hums Flight of the Valkyries* Yes streams are still going to happen, as they do for Rise of the Reds. So when the mod is out, you will be able to play on stream via SWR.net, or watch them on Twitch -------------------- My Soundcloud profile: right here |

Oh lovely! I've never played online so I've never used SWR.net. So I'll first have fun researching how it works haha.
Thanks for the information. |

Oh lovely! I've never played online so I've never used SWR.net. So I'll first have fun researching how it works haha. Thanks for the information. Usually it's as trivial as running the installer and pressing the green button without Direct Connect. You'll need port forwarding for DC; that is where it gets a bit trickier. Are you still going to organise streams? I loved them! *hums Flight of the Valkyries* Of course I will be holding regular streams. Expect them on Fridays and Sundays once every 2 weeks, cuz I will be switching around with RotR and SHW from now on, maybe something more in the future on my end |

Yes I have Hunter, and thanks. I like this community.
Shockwave kept me playing this game, although I'm quite a noob player (but I've streams to watch the pro's haha). Thank you Hecktor Doomhammer, I'll keep an eye on the streams. |

ShW is considered finished compared to ROTR, so there's not too much to build upon. I mean, what was you expecting really? I was expecting fixes on the lines of the fan patch... but you do have a point. On another note, what makes Shatterer a viable choice over the Enforcer? Speed? Enforcer is faster, I think. They both are amphibious. Damage? Enforcer wins guaranteed. The line damage of the Shatterer is good, but only for infantry and clustered light vehicles, but enforcers annihilates everything already. I suppose the Shatterer does more damage to buildings, I suppose. But Enforcer's more multi-role. Shatterer may be good, but worth a GP? But pardon me, as I'm just a lonely comp-stomper. Supply Drop Zone should also get ROTR's Updated Model, I mean, WHY NOT? All the US production and research buildings are same, or better than the ROTR buildings. It'd be cool if the neutron infantry death effect is used for death by plasma, too... This post has been edited by Arc: 15 Mar 2016, 8:50 |

It'd be cool if the neutron infantry death effect is used for death by plasma, too... Enforcers have a lot of firepower in the form of plasma storms, but they really only work in groups. They can't gain veterancy however as they are drones. Also remember that these guys in groups can deal friendly fire to each other as each tank damages adjacent targets upon death. They also cant be unmanned so you won't be giving enforcers to a GLA anytime soon. As for shatterers, they are able to gain veterancy and become absolutely terrifying with heroic veterancy, and are able to shoot through buildings, making them very powerful defensively. The trade-off however, is that they are much more expensive. They are also much more devestating with SnD, being able to attack multiple targets with ease while on the move (Enforcers can do the same but shatterer are designed for this). Also remember that these guys can be unmanned, and is terrible if you give 1.8k worth in the form of a unit to your enemy for a random infantry to mann that tank. Remember that both of these require a GP-Unlock, so its completely up to you which ever you pick. This post has been edited by SoraZ: 15 Mar 2016, 12:41 -------------------- Drop Commander |
