SWR Productions Forum _ Bug Reports _ Possible Bug: General Juhziz difficulty setting not working

Posted by: Meshakhad 21 Feb 2019, 23:08

I'll admit that I'm not a great C&C player. I only recently got Shockwave. So far, I've enjoyed the revised Generals Challenge, with one exception: Juhziz.

I've got the difficulty set to Easy, but I think Juhziz is on Normal regardless (or possibly Hard). He's by far the hardest general to face, and it has little to do with his map or playstyle. Unlike all the other generals on Easy, he launches wave after wave of attacks, often from two directions simultaneously. To me, this feels more like he's simply set at a higher difficulty.

I did finally beat him with Townes, but it was incredibly difficult. My next matches as Townes - Leang and Kwai - were much easier. Kwai in particular was pathetic. I've been trying to beat Juhziz with Alexander, Leang, Tao, and Deathstrike, but it's not gone well. Eventually, one of his attacks manages to overwhelm my defenses. Only Townes' laser turrets seem to be able to handle suicide bikes.

Sidenote: there are a couple of map features that do make Juhziz rather difficult. Mostly, it's economic. The only other supply sites outside your base are inside Juhziz, and the Oil Derricks are not only rigged with explosives, but too far away to be defensible.

Exactly this, 3 helixes even as tank general would be sufficient for you to kill anything and farm veterancy on them due to all the free demo traps

Agree. This isn't about how to defeat Julziz, as any general can actually beat his challenge.

The fact that difficulty setting does not affect Julziz's challenge do exist, but I think this is primarily due to the absence of this challenge in the original Zero Hour.
When this challenge was restored by the mod, chances are that only one AI set was coded instead of three for 3 difficulties.

That was my guess.
