So this is my second thread in a similar context, but I think Pandora mines should be triggered by passing aircraft. Jets would probably be able to evade it (or not), while helicopter hordes would be annilhilated by a single well placed mine.

No. Pandora mines are land mines, and logically, air craft may not trigger land mines.

While the ECA actually has anti-air land mines (namely, mine drop level 3), Pandora mines should not do it simply because it would be a waste.

That makes it even more odd that he has never seen 4-5 Hinds at the same spot doesn't it?

if you read his post again you can see that he probably misunderstood you in saying 10k induvidual hinds and not 10k worth of hinds in money.

Yeah. 10,000 Hinds would blacken the sky and that's what I haven't seen yet.

10,000 Hinds would crash every map, if not, lag it to less than 1 frame a second.

It's a simple misunderstanding then, doesn't change the fact that 4-5 Hinds can be taken out by a Pandora mine and it could hardly be called a waste.
So if the reasoning behind making this happen is that it would be impractical to use and actually act as a deterrent to its effectiveness, you don't need to worry about that. |

Problem is though is that it could get 4 hinds... or a single recon drone. Not a good thing in my opinion.

I think how that idea is bullcrap, adding that ability would prevent most of GPs from happening, thus destroying balance between means factions would use for defence against enemy GPs,since ECA would have unfair advantage.

Uhh, it probably wouldn't even OHKO a GP. (I'm pretty sure an Overlord has less HP than your average plane and Overlord survives a blast when near the center) So your point is bullcrap.

Even so, laying a mine on a GP aircraft's path should be rewarded anyway, when the much easier alternative of spamming Wotans would serve just fine. And you can always, if you're expecting a mine there, trigger the mine with a decoy. You're over thinking it and making up scenarios that will never happen and fabricating absolute nonsense claims just to support your own position. You're really just trolling the thread, and the fact that you're personally insulting me means that your attempt to psyche me has failed miserably. I won't dignify your next post with a response. Get lost.
_______ With all that said, the thread was derailed quite a lot, so is this idea being considered or is it a no? We already have mine drops that kill aircraft and Icarus air mines so there's no reason this shouldn't happen, not to mention this would fix how Pandora is the only Prototype without an AA weapon. (Besides one of the two Venoms but you can get them both so yeah) This post has been edited by DarkyPwnz: 6 Jun 2014, 21:42 |

Even if it doesn't OHKO, it will still most likely be heavy damaged, and be easy prey for AA. Simeone didn't specifically say that it would insta-kill a GP plane. It's not as powerful as you seem to think. Not more damaging than the 7-8 Wotans it takes to kill a GP aircraft anyway. Seriously, before degrading someone's opinion like that, at least pretend that you're the least bit informed. |

Seriously, before degrading someone's opinion like that, at least pretend that you're the least bit informed. If you have the ability to buy 7-8 Wotans you have the ability to place down more than one mine. Also, it would encourage ECA players to get the Pandora and it would put the game in their advantage. They could just bunker down, with walls of defenses and Pandora minefields. NO MICRO NEEDED. -------------------- Your feeling of helplessness is your best friend, savage.
