Hello everyone,

Once again a small status report on our development.
We're almost done with testing the new release and are making the finnishing touches aswell as implementing a nice new feature "Classic Cameos".
As the name suggest the new release will feature an option to enable old school texted cameos which were originaly an unofficial addon made by one of our testers but are now incorperated as an official feature.

Here's a small preview of how these classic cameos look:




Other than that we can't realy report a whole lot at this current moment but we can give you some new screenshots and renders for your enjoyment:

The Medivac is just an art update from the old medivac chinook and remains largely unchanged.
The Watch tower is a new defence that will be replacing the tank bunker in it's function for general Kwai.
It fire 2 guided rockets upon enemy ground units and cannot attack air.

And, hmmm, that watchtower reminds me of some type of GDI defence structure in Tiberian Dawn. tongue.gif

It looks like the Lazor Paladin has a rotating barrel animation but i just can't tell.... Either way, awesome update!

hmm, I see the bug where overlord speaker didn't turned red on frenzy effect. will this fixed on the release?

for the new models and stuffs, they looks really nice in the game. smile.gif

Very nice, as always. What is the reason for removale of the Tank Bunker? Also will the Biohazard tech for Alexander have it's stream weapon fixed, it doesn't track with the movement of the "weapon".

The reason for the removal of the tank bunker is probably because NOBODY USED THEM tongue.gif

I believe it wasn't effective as say as a normal bunker and their were coding issues where a tank couldn't align properly with the bunker ala YR's tank bunker i think. Also nice update, i wonder how powerful are the rockets from the watch tower and how fast they fire them. I also found the C&C tiberian dawn influence on the tower when i looked at it aswell biggrin.gif.

Nice update. Somehow that paladin is starting to grow on me by the day tongue.gif . The medivac is cool, though i wish you guys had time to also edit the damn old chinook. That thing is probably the ulgyest model/texture in generals. About the classic cameo part - will there be a game option for them ( like a option in the game launcher for example ) or they will come as a separated art pack and peope who wants them just copy/paste's the .big file ?

I think an option in the game launcher would be pretty cool for that, especially since textures can differ across games and not desync.(of course, that is meaning if it's easy for the people with the source to the launcher to be edited)

I love new features for each factions. Specially, Nuke General and Tank General's new toys. I8.gif

About Watch Tower, is this able garrison bulding or can't able garrison?

True that. Tank bunkers never made a lot of sense, you're giving up the mobility of a unit for a teensy boost in defence. Plus, you couldn't even put an Overlord in there, so what's the point?

I like the new watchtower model, but I don't see where the missiles will come out of. Do they just shoot out of the windows or what? Will this building require power?

Always great to see that progress is being made, these frequent updates are getting me excited for the final release!

If it's true to it's origins, the watchtower has no windows. What you see on top are missile pods. It's an automated defense - has no crew. And my guess is it will require power. It only makes sense.

It's interesting that this will require power, as now China Tank will have no unpowered defensive structure to rely on. (Other Chinas have the bunker, USA has the Firebase, and GLA has all unpowered)

Now that I think of it, USA Armor is the same way. So the tank generals are more dependent on power, I suppose that's a good balance.

Honestly, I'm not sure if the tower fits in with the general theme of Shockwave. It does look like it'd be better placed in a different CnC game. However, I am willing to see what it's like in game before saying I don't like it at all tongue.gif

Edit: Out of interest, what do the stickers on the front of it say? tongue.gif
