Simply put, what makes them better than Tunnel Defenders for AA? More more damage/range? Given them a bit of a try, but can't seem what makes the better at AA than the same cost in Tunnel Defenders. Not complaining that the lil waddling guys got let out of their nests, but want to know what they do better over the good ol' RPGers.

They are ment to be good vs Aircraft, RPG's are not that good vs fast jets as their projectile drops.Same can be said about the projectile speeed as well.More range too IIRC,

^This. The Tunnel Defender has pretty disadvantage with low fire speed and short range against fast aircraft or attack chopper.

And don't forget the damn good AoE of Stinger missiles. After AP rockets upgrade they become even deadlier.

Apart from the massive win in this thread, Stinger Soldiers deal around 25% more damage to almost all airfarce units, while also having way more range and greater splash. The only unit they are worse against happens to be the Spectre.

And now to give a proper official responds on all of this.
GLA AA is particular hard to deal with since most GLA weapons are either missiles or bullets so no fancy stuff like microwave beam weapons could have been added from a design point without making things weird. So instead of adding some obscure weapon that doesn't seem appropriate or feels out of place we simply added MORE stinger missiles. They fill a gap between Quads and Ural Trucks and not to mention that having a permanently stealthed anti-air infantry is pretty cool. --------------------  |
