Game launch issue, win7 Options

Scratch that, I read about the dreaded windows update KB3086255, uninstalled it and all works fine (so far anyways )




Found my old Generals disk and had the itch.

But I can not get anything to play nice with Windows 7. I've browsed the forums but haven't seen anyone with the same issues/fixes for me yet.

I have a fresh copy of ZH, patched it to 1.04, installed a fresh copy of SW 1.1 but nothing launches. I can try running vanilla, ZH, or SW and none of them start up. There are no errors/pop ups, at most a screen flicker and then nothing. I have tried several of the folder tricks others have suggested, tried comparability mode, a second fresh install... nothing, can't even get my disk to spin up.

I played the tar out of SW... 5 years ago but had an XP machine then.

Im guessing until I can get vanilla to even launch there is no hope in SW working for me
