Hi, Felin Rifleman with Starstreak Missiles upgrade and Combat Pioneers It made it difficult to identify, and I would like to change some things to make it easier for me to recognize them.

Ok, to try to help here I will post some images that should illustrate what you are talking about.
In fact are very similar as to the point of almost be impossible to identify them when in groups. Ps: I personally always thought in a Combat Pioneer more cult and stereotyped, with traditional long beard of English or French (something traditional within divisions of sappers). French Foreign Legion long beard pioneers in cerimonial uniform. Canadian soldiers keeping the traditional beard. Also I found it interesting that this text that talks about the long beards of pionners in the British Army of today: The Only Army Rank Allowed to Have a Beard on Parade OFF Topic: The beard of these soldiers should give jealousy to the @Doomhammer's beard. A beard wouldn't add the necessary distinction to make it easily possibly to spot the difference between the two.
If anything pioneers need a different color of headwear or a different type headwear all together. -------------------- |

A long red beard could help (perhaps non-textured, which moves parallel to the chest), and a grey, black or brow beret. maybe its because of the starstreak launcher and CP's mortar on the soldier's back that makes it too alike, especially with rear view

If anything pioneers need a different color of headwear or a different type headwear all together. Different color of headgear will be nice. Like a dark blue or navy color. -------------------- Let's kick this Russian Tank's ass back to the Bronze Age! Twitch Chart ID: Mr_kim82 Moddb ID: Mr_Kim |

I would suggest a bigger backpack for the Pionneer I agree with this. Or you could either swap the felins or pioneers mortar/aa launcher to the other shoulder -------------------- Many thanks to IvanMRM for my avatar and Star for drawing my epic signature. What if you simply made the Pioneer carry the mortar horizontally; similar to how this US soldier is carrying his mortar:
The long horizontal bar of the mortar on the Pioneer's front or back would probably be recognizable at the standard camera height. This post has been edited by Guard Llama: 3 Jun 2015, 15:43 |

Horizontally-placed mortar on the Pioneer's back sounds great. If it's still lacking, you could also put those round-shaped anti-tank mines on his backpack too. |

I think all of these changes would make the pioneer stand out more. (Beard, beret and backpack)
Make it happen, Hunter. |

You all severely underestimate on how difficult it is to actualy make any of the things you suggest work.
-A beard does not give the visual detail necessary to differentiate the unit from an other at all. -The back pack is as large as it can be without looking silly -Infantry weapons are excessively large to so that they are easily recognizable at a distance as such carrying the mortar as described is not possible without looking silly. And finally because we do not have a budget, props or actors for realistic cameos i need to find my source files on google and there isn't a single picture of a man with a beard and a beret using a mortar. I will do something but none of the things mentioned here. -------------------- |

If you already have something concrete in mind then you can obviously ignore the following suggestion: What if you switched the position of the Pioneer PDW and Mortar? So by default the Pioneer would carry a mortar horizontally in his hands and the PDW could still be visible on his backpack. Yes the mortar is quite long, but I don't think it's any longer than the recoilless rifle carried by Chinese tankhunters (who I believe carry their weapon across their chest when moving), so it wouldn't necessarily look silly. At the same time, I recognize that switching these elements would require work and might not look great in the end. |

Can't you put like an overhead icon on top of his head similar to the mod ( Vietnamese War Obscured) that would tell them apart from felins?

Because that's a cheap way to differentiate them, and shows laziness. V:GO did it because their realism made all infantry look similar. But ROTR is a more stylized mod, so that should not be necessary.
