Well it looks interesting, but ... I dunno, I never thought it made sense that the second Black Ops was in the future considering the setting of the first. Actually I never really understood why Black Ops needed a sequel. They should have just done this as its own series imo, or tied it into AW.

Well, well, well... Treyarch has never disappointed me before. WaW was awesome, BO was awesome, BOII was slightly less awesome but awesome nonetheless. I assume this game will be slightly less awesome than BOII but awesome nonetheless. Although Zombies has never been my thing. Absolutely not.

I'm more interested in what they are going to do for campaign. I spotted a vehicle running over some people, maybe in multiplayer? If not I hope we get some open-world driving sessions in the campaign, that would be sweet.

After re-watching the reveal trailer there are several things I noticed.
The enemies are a mix of cyborgs and robots as well as humans. As MARS noted earlier it will probably be the US military or a resistance group vs Transhumanists. Secondly, the robot enemies look like a mix between the sentinels in Destiny (those guarding the towers) and the Elysium robots in Elysium.
Third these enhancements will most likely function exactly the same as the exo-suit
And fourthly I doubt there'll be any "open" driving sections.

QUOTE
Call of Duty: Black Ops III takes place in the dark, twisted, and gritty future of 2060 as a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerge and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the cutting-edge military robotics that define the future of combat.

The campaign, multiplayer and the Zombies mode of Black Ops III have been completely overhauled. The Campaign supports 4-player co-operative gameplay, a fully customizable soldier male or female, and more open arena gameplay that aims for multiple revisits to find all possible ways to get through a level. The Multiplayer introduces a new movement system, a new class system called "Specialists", and a new gunsmith that allows a slew of weapon customization combinations. Lastly, Zombies return with an all-new narrative separate from the campaign and its own XP progression system

According to Wikipedia, of course this is all subject to spin etc.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Treyarch do diverge from the franchise.

By the way, for future reference, if you want to make a post quoting multiple separate posts, click the [+QUOTE] button on the posts you wish to quote in your own, then click [ADD REPLY] at the bottom. That way, you will find all the marked posts quoted inside your post and you can write/modify it as usual. This is to prevent double posts while still allowing you to reply to multiple posts without having to copy-paste a lot. It'd be great if you could try using that in the future smile.gif

As for the premise of this game, I do wonder how they will try to tie in this 2060s era story with the BlOps setting as a whole, seeing how it is now literally a century since the Cold War activities of the original Alex Mason. I don't see why they should call it Black Ops 3 if the story is entirely disconnected and they did reference the other games in the first teaser trailer. Maybe this time we're playing the son of David Mason who, for some reason, has to dig into the family history to solve the crisis. Odd as it may sound, BlOps is the only CoD story I still care enough to follow seeing how, arguably, Treyarch can now be considered the 'A developer' for CoD games.

Thanks Man,

Yeh guess that would have helped stop me from spamming the Ideas thread, which is a little stagnant nowadays.

Anyway, yeh I agree, but don't worry Alex Mason with have had Cybernetic implants that increase his life for 500 years.

I can't see it being a good game. It's taking ideas from AW which was pretty bad to start with, although BO2 I still like, I just can't. Nowadays, Treyarch really is the "A developer" due to the IW fallout years ago.

So guys, these are some features that will be in the game:

Four-player, open-ended Co-Op campaign
There will be four players with their own customizable characters, who fight on larger, more open maps in the campaign. It is unknown if the branching narrative will still be present, but I find this a welcome addition. Players will be able to choose whether to go stealth or all guns blazing, and following missions they can level up their soldier and get better equipment.

Specialists
Specialists are special characters usable in multiplayer, including an archer, a robot and a cowboy. These specialists will have personalities and backstories, and I predict they will quip some witty dialogue during multiplayer.

Extended multiplayer
Multiplayer will feature new ways to play, with a variety of ways to get around including swimming and wall-jumping, jet-packs and teleportation. Create-a-weapon seems to be a new thing as you can design your very own weapon to use in multiplayer, including designing your own camouflage pattern.

I don't know about you but I welcome these additions. One thing I wonder though is if the four-player co-op is optional; I would rather play through the campaign myself since none of my friends play Call of Duty, ehr. Maybe some of you guys would want to play?

There is only one important feature that matter to me: it is going to have four player split screen or not? It is a crap that me and my friends can only play BO2 when we meet together due AW lack of this feature

A new gameplay trailer, showing off co-op campaign and new gameplay abilities. Tell you what; this doesn't look half-bad. Treyarch has always delivered and I'm cyked. Only hope you can play singleplayer.

I do like the look of this as treyarch has yet to disappoint me. but can they please redesign the engine for once. The way it handles diagonal shots like down stairs continues to bug me to no end, its like their chest suddenly covers their head. now i havent really played since the first BO and a little bit of BO2 so idk if this has been fixed since.
I honestly think the series could continue on better footing if they redesigned the engine for the first time since CoD 2. the only reason i buy these games anymore is for zombies really and i didnt even get BO2 so treyarch should hope this impresses me.

After Ghosts and AW I thought I was done with CoD, but Black Ops 3 actually looks decent so far (I'm just talking about the MP here, like I always do tongue.gif).

The gameplay seems to be a lot like BO2, with the Exo movement (which I hated in AW) beeing more of an optional thing now. From all the videos I've seen, most players seem to stay on the ground for the most part. And pretty much everything looks and feels like BO2

And since dedicated servers for PC are confirmed so far and there will be a multiplayer beta, this could actually be good.

I can't wait to get hyped and dissapointed again!

Okay, so, in case anybody cares about this game anymore, but there is a story trailer up and it shows some pretty... interesting stuff. Treyarch's never disappointed with story before, so this should be good. Maybe we'll even see Reznov again?

Note what seems to be a hallucination (?) of a WW2 Königstiger tank at 2:00. Perhaps the game will also have missions set in the past relative to the story's present like previous parts of BO, or rather just surreal sequences borrowing the imagery.

If you ever decide to invade Russia, for the love of God, bring some warm clothes. We don't want you to blame the "evil Russian winter" when you get crushed, like everyone else who tried.

Well, I liked the WaW the most. These modern warfare stories are all just a big BS. MP's good thou. What would be good is to make a new WWII or early Cold War or even WWI game. That's where you can't actually completely screw up the story, because it all happened in RL. And what would be really neat, is to make it possible to choose Germans and Japs. Not that I'm fond of Axis or anything, but the Krauts had the best weapons and generally the most advanced stuff back then.

Well, I can safely say that if you want Call of Duty Black Ops 3 on PC, then save your money. Not only is it a broken piece of mess, but Steam completely fucked over my save file (again) so now I'll have to start over the campaign again halfway through. Plus, the campaign is completely watered down. I thought they would have diverging storylines like in BLOPS2 but no, apparently not. The customization is barely there, the new RPG mechanics are confusing as hell and the story is fucking boring. I don't even want to get into the multiplayer.

If Steam acts like a piece of shit this Tuesday I'll fucking torrent FO4 and crack it.
