With the ever closer RotR 2.0 release, am I the only one who's not only excited about the ECA but especially excited about what's being done to the GLA? I really LOVE what the team did with USA and China - they have their own fully unique feel to how they play now. Looking forward to the release and seeing what happens with the GLA!

From what was leaked by the team so far the GLA will be more industrial. Less World War II, more Cold War. From what I remember the only unit render is the Katyusha system and the Scorpion will probably get replaced (as it's based on a Czech tank from 1939 or something). I do think the GLA will keep their high-mobility/high-versatility theme which is mainly based on hit'n'run and unconventional tactics. I doubt there will be a specific tank general like in Shockwave. Most likely there will be a good amount of visual updates like with the other factions. The Sneak Attack will probably stay in, while some other abilities might get capped or altered.
Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt. I'm not in the ROTR Tester group. |

Improvements? Unseen features? Oh no! More teasing is on it's way! At this rate, I swear I am gonna start crying soon! *sniff*
But the existing factions already look pretty self reliant and well rounded to me. The only things missing would be, US - Aurora bomber China - Helix Russia - Railgun for Golem and perhaps even the Kodiac That's just my opinion though. |

I say now it's capable of taking off to waters and transform into a sub if it wants to. Take that Japanese techno geeks from alternate universe!
But if I had to put some thought into it - Golem already has rocket-propelled shells, a Active Protection System, co-axial MG (I might be wrong). We already knew it would later get railgun, and I can't think of anything that would be cooler than that. Giving it smoke grenades or slapping missile pods on it doesn't sound that cool. So yeah I am clueless about the new spice.  I just hope the railgun will look like "real" railgun and not like Towne's laser-ish railgun. |

I think in RL it actually was amphibious IIRC. Damn alot of teasing going on here what is happening release wise now is it just GLA or are ECA coming aswell or in a later release?

I'd say the next release is going to be an in-between-thing that merely adds the new GLA, which in terms of improvement should be en par with China and the US.
The next big release after that will probably contain vanilla ECA, followed by another release that has the generals for all factions. |

The main highlight of the next release will likely be the GLA but that isn't to say that we haven't changed a few things about the existing factions or added some other things here and there.
