Nice to see this thread finally get an update, you wont believe how many times I checked this one and Ingram's In case I missed it. That's awesome man! Glad you check! Any names or stories or basically anything about these gals Comr4de? Hahahahaha Oh, thats an entire new bit of news. I haven't been sitting on my laurels, ever, so I'll just say I've been working on the Unreal Engine. Edit: I was about to be super vague and not post shit but, fuck it. The footage below is actually outdated as I've started texturing. I have the entire stage blocked out using unreal's primitives, not just that first part done, I've just started working on assets that replace them and divided the entire stage into "chunks" so that I am able to concentrate on certain parts. My focus for this project is to get a complete and functional prototype, currently in that video there's the default Unreal running and jumping animatins that I am actually fixing to replace, and clearly a lot of other things to be done. I've assembled a small team to get this done and will post more of it when the time arises. Here's the now outdated footage of the first chunk done: I'm calling it Rogue Hunter, a 2.5D side scroller action game where the protagonist, Katherine Alexander, switches bodies with the combat-grade frame resembling her vigilante persona the "Jackal"seeking out the where abouts of her father, the former CEO of the Mobius TranSolar Conglomerate. Using her inherited wealth and suspecting the board of directors and other executives within her own company; partly because her father put a synthetic in line of succession other than their own, she searches the vast superstructures, arcologies of the city around the Mobius Headquarters seeking out answers and thwart corporate shenanigans from undermining your position all while entangling yourself with the flaws of the contemporary society. All thanks to giving synthetics full human rights more than a decade ago (that whole bit is an entirely different subject). Katherine Alexander or "Jackal's" combat style is that of close range combat, utilizing fists, kicks and the mobility of her grapplng hook arms; that is part of her fore arms can launch off and with the use of the clawed hands can latch onto ledges or roofs to access new areas, as well as using them to grab onto foes to launch yourself towards them to close the gap, or bring them to yourself. Given this frame is entirely mechanical, modular and resilient, the player will be able to outfit it with different abilities, gadgets and weaponry to help you find new areas to explore and get the job done. One of the many villians/baddies involved, of which I went ahead and drew two of include Harpy, who is likely to get a redesign to more of a drone kind of design but keeping the Harpy element, and the Technomancer who's design here isn't final either but it's close, uses her disruption, deception, illusion and distraction via hacking to impede on the Protagonist in more ways then one. Don't want to reveal that just yet, just basically know shes essentially the perfect counterpart to a synthetic protagonist. I will give sneak peeks every once in a while as we progress but I have a devoted character animator, concept artist, character modeler, a composer, a programmer and myself to do a prototype. After that we might be able to go indie. We'll see, prototype first. -------------------- SWR Co-Lead | Texture Artist | Modeler | Level Designer | Fan of all things Awesome |
