Are you using the Zero Hour's built in matchmaking system or trying to use hamachi?

Are you trying to play Shockwave via Zero Hour online or just normal Zero Hour?

If you could provide a screenshot, that would help illustrate the situation.
I just press "Multiplayer" - "Online" and "Custom Game" Online play was retired by EA, as far as I know. Last time I tried to login and play online (few weeks ago), it gave me a generic "Cannot connect" error (although it validated my login credentials first which was...weird...) Anyway, you have to play SW in the LAN lobby ("Network") using Hamachi. Here's a thread for how to do that: http://forums.swr-productions.com/index.php?showtopic=1904 As for issues with 7, I can't think of any. I use 7 x64 and can play it just fine. The only thing you might notice is the shellmap won't play (battle in the background of the main menu), but that can be fixed by running the game in XP compatibility mode. I leave it off, tho, because the menu runs faster without the shellmap This post has been edited by ChiEkku: 11 Oct 2010, 17:49 |

So its not just Sw its ZH as well. Why on good green eath did the retire online gameplay??? Bullshit. Zero Hour online is not retired, the servers are still online. I can't test it myself because I lost my manual with my serial so I'm using a non-valid one, but I have friends who still play it online as of this day. -------------------- |

Well, neither I nor my 3 other friends could get online (valid code users). Maybe the servers were conveniently down at the time... *shrug* Also, please forgive me, but a Mod of the SWR Team using a keygen'd key? Dunno why, but it just strikes me as...odd (tho I'm totally cool with it, lol). Is it the keygen I'm thinking of? This post has been edited by ChiEkku: 12 Oct 2010, 6:23 |

In the seven years I've owned the game not once have I been able to connect.

Well I can log in and see all the users and all, and I can join a game but when I try to start one, it says "unable to conect to other players" and if I try hosting a game i am told that i can´t. |

Is it the keygen I'm thinking of? its not like I pirated the game lol. I was really mad at losing my manual as I still, as one of the few, enjoy Zero Hour online at times. @Kyringe. Shockwave is primarily played over Hamachi anyway, and geared towards network play, so Hamachi is the way to go. -------------------- |
