reason for calling him an idiot is because he asked if they were finished with 1.85. Obviously if they were they would have released it already.
As for asking about the progress, I was just asking for the rest of us not on the dev/test team that's all -------------------- |

As for asking about the progress, I was just asking for the rest of us not on the dev/test team that's all MARS said 99% of 1.8 was done days before they released it. Not done could imply they have little more to go and only several days until release. -------------------- |

Calm down guys, lets all take a deep breath.
We've already had one too many displeasent posts from people on this update.Lets not turn this little firefight into a flamewar asking for Moderators etc to intervene (It can escalate to that...I guess) Let me tell you all that the mod will be realeased when the Development team feel its ready for the worldwide playerbase. In this case It will be released when you The Hunter and Comr4de feels like it.Nobody's a possesive secret order that holds the secrets of the world or in this case the (IMO) best ZH Mod ever made.Nor is anyone like some publishers that love to push out unfinished proudcts cause of a predetermined deadline/Not caring about the product nor its consumer So smile, watch, and enjoy the drones while you can.Its just a matter of time they are under my comand and ontop of you This post has been edited by The_Hunter: 16 Nov 2013, 17:24 -------------------- |

How long time does it take to take a single unit from concept art to in-game content?
Btw, thanks God, for the moderator's ban button! Great work as usual! SWR rocks! -------------------- |

How long time does it take to take a single unit from concept art to in-game content? this depends largely on how complicated the unit is. -------------------- |

How long time does it take to take a single unit from concept art to in-game content? You also have to take into account that it usually does not begin with the concept art. First we discuss various design ideas and optimise those. Once the idea is solid it starts with the concept art or choosing a design if there is one allready available (all the RL units for example). The ATDrone the design or units like the Shenlong took relatively long (several weeks), since I redesigned them several times till we where happy with them. For other units it's allmost instant or a matter of hours and we can go straight into modelling. Modelling is most of the times something between one and two evenings. (again might be longer if there is a lot to optimise, or if the concepts where relatively rough and the design process is done during modelling) UV mapping and textureing are another two to three evenings usually. (the longest that I've spent on a texture was roughly a month though) Coding is extremely dependet on how "special" the unit is and can be anything from an hour up to several days. All in all a unit can be ingame within a day, but might take up to a month or even more. -------------------- |

Their primary function is to destroy tanks but we intentionally designed them to be useable in a variety of unconventional ways because we wanted them to be a scary unit to be up against, especially in the dark. Speaking of which, this'd also be a great premise for a fan-fiction: Some remote Russian outpost has to hold out for an entire night against a Ranger detachment with a LARGE back-up force of drones. Hell, in-lore, they would probably drop entire packs of these monsters out of C-130s... ...intriguing... -------------------- "Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. No, the Fennek will most likely remain limited to the Commando Drop power. It'd be less unique and arguably redundant if it were a buildable unit.

I love how you made one of the most useless units in C&C history actually useful now.
