It seems that sometimes ECA mines dropped from a Pegasus Helicopter (sorry I dont play ECA), will go off on a GLA worker. Yet the worker is meant to walk through mines unharmed, like most mine clearer's.

Fix pls? Explain pls?

That's exact, but GLA workers are still GLA's mine clearers, so are China dozers.

Regarding this, it's likely to be a bug.

What mines were those? I mean which rank of the power did you use?
If you can provide a replay, it would be the best.

Also, were you able to reproduce this? Or did it happen only once?

All Dozers and Workers are immune to land mines' damage type - LAND_MINE. But there are certain mines that either additionally have some secondary damage type or use a wholly different damage type entirely. Rank 1 Pegasus mines have LAND_MINE and SURRENDER damage types; the worker is not immune to the latter. They can also be killed by R3 mines' AA cartridge, but you would have to do some creamy meme magic to pull that off.

We are aware of this, I should suggest you also get a GP to counteract this, most notibly the marauders to clear the mines as they are Immune to it.

Thats how the current state of ROTR works, your just obliged to choose GP's or just use meatshields.

Sorry I've been a bit slack lately and didn't reproduce the bug and unfortunately I cant play ROTR for awhile now. Perhaps someone else may want to reproduce the bug?

I can't recall the game in perfect clarity but I can recall some details.

1. The mines were rank 3 Pegasus ones.

2. AND were overlapped by mole minelayers.

3. It wasnt the mole bombs that killed the workers (although some did die to them, most of the died to actual mines - thats what i'm complaining about)

4. Before i properly noticed the workers were carrying supplies over the mine field. Although changing them to sweep for the mines made no difference.

Anything else?

Technically workers shouldn't be dying from R3 mines since those do not have SURRENDER secondary damage

Do R3 mines pop out of the ground and explode (like airburst rounds).

Sorry if this is vague i'm trying to make sure they were R3 mines.

Is that the AA cartridge you were referring to earlier?

All Pegasus mines pop out of the ground but that doesn't mean that they actually harm them. From R1 to R3, Pegasus mines deal LAND_MINE damage [with R1 being an exception with additional SURRENDER] – workers are completely immune to LAND_MINE damage. Mole mines–not the giant bomb–deal the same damage type, so workers are immune to those as well. The only two ways they could be killed by Pegasus mines are either being R1 or being R3 and having aircraft pass over them while the workers are in the minefield, assuming that they haven't disarmed them already and are close enough so as to be in the radius and not trigger them.

Unless there is a bug tongue.gif.

The workers were definitely triggering so perhaps i was wrong and they were R1.

Thats besides the point though. Shouldn't the (correct me if i'm wrong) GLA's only mine clearer be immune to ECA's mines - full stop (excluding mole bombs/ smart bombs)? Or is this disadvantage purposefully included for canon/ balance?

Rank 1 mines are anti-infantry, hence the SURRENDER damage type. Though GLA does have another mine-clearing unit that is completely immune to mines – the Marauder.
