QUOTE (Command and Conquer Generals Official Website)
DOWNLOAD ARI'S FAV MAP PACK BATTLE FOR GENERALS!

Map: Ari's Fav Map Pack

Creator: General_Ari

Description: "These are five maps that have depth, character & appeal. Not just four corners with lots of money and 10 Super Weapons to capture. These maps will put the fun back in Generals. Soon, these will be the only unofficial maps played online. Don't believe me? Download & see for yourself." Hopefully the confidence in this quote gets the point across. These are excellent maps.

For full map information, check out CNC Files page.

Here are our top 3 favorite aspects of these maps:

  • The first map is a Bay of Pigs remake from Red Alert 2. Excellent map choice!
  • The "star" map has a very unique map design, and it is 5 player, offering up some insane free-for-alls.
  • Every map has a good amount of depth, giving them a lot of replay value.
Awesome job General_Ari!

I've been playing with these maps over the last few days, and I had to say these maps are outstanding.
Great detail, great fun to play. Although AI doesn't really work on some or all of them. These would be awesome for online games biggrin.gif
I played them using Shockwave, so I don't know how they perform with other mods...

Oh and here's a little something for people who don't know how to install maps.

QUOTE (Install ZH Maps)
To install Generals or Zero Hour maps, please follow these directions:

  • For C&C Generals:
    • The maps data folder is My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps
    • On Windows 98/Me systems, the complete path to this folder is: C:\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps\
    • On Windows 2000/XP systems, the complete path to the folder varies. The basic path is always: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps\ where [User Name] is your Windows login user name.
  • For C&C Generals: Zero Hour:
    • The maps data folder is My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps
      • On Windows 98/Me systems, the complete path to this folder is: C:\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps\
      • On Windows 2000/XP systems, the complete path to the folder varies. The basic path is always: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data\Maps\ where [User Name] is your Windows login user name.

Well this was kinda a one-off, but if I see something I like enough, I don't see why not ^.^

That one VS GLA is rather challenging.

I really liked Hammer and Sickle too.

I just remembered that I played Hammer and Sickle before, however it was a snow map back then.

Apparently it's based on a RA3 map.

Actually not, I played the Snow Version back in 2006 already, I think it is from World Rebellion.

Never played RA3 so I wouldn't know.

I prefer it as it is in this pack though

Hammer and Sickle is from RA2. Was a LAN favourite of mine back in the day.
