sup, I finally got my own windows 7 copy and serial (legally downloaded from MSDNAA), I really want to install it but I'm unsure with these things:

1. I want to install it on my laptop come with vista installed, but how if after upgraded to 7 I want downgrade it back to vista? (just in case anything unwanted happen)
because the laptop didn't come with vista installer =P
2. will the softwares that previously installed lost after upgraded to 7? (I hope not, I forgot where those softwares come from, maybe some of the boxes are already missing)

this is my first time upgrading OS, so I really need help and some guides.
thanks.

Your laptop usually has a partition for recovery. I hope you kept it intact.

Did you consider to install W7 on a own partition?
This way your original Vista install stays untouched.

I've once think to install the 7 in different partition, but my laptop harddisk already parted into 2 drives. I don't want to install the 7 on my second partition (because it's for data only). I also don't want to add more partition because the partitions must have small data capasity. moreover if I install the 7 in different drive I should install some softwares in the windows 7 too. that will fill up my harddisk.
