After looking around a week after release, it seems the major issue is that Beyond Earth is not unlike Civilization V in its release state. Many feel it needs more polishing and additional content mainly due to the fact that in its present state, it is too similar to vanilla Civilization V and doesn't do anything substantially different or new to make it worth the admission price. As much as I have been dying to recreate the successor states from Battletech in this game, I think I'll wait for the first discount.

After playing it today, i can see its pretty solid, i have mixed reviews, through like most of you said it feels like a really good mod for civ v, it still has lots of new stuff and cool looks.
