The thing is, it isn't at Ground Zero. That's rubbish propaganda from the right wing. It's a whole four blocks away (mind you, there was already a Muslim place there two blocks away before 2001) from the site.
Scope posted this video over at Fallout Studios, I recommend you watch it. -------------------- |

Anything ever said by any Republican should be verified before you believe a single word of it IMO. It's exactly what Alias said, just sensationalist propaganda blown massively out of proportion in an effort to further a xenophobic agenda.

I don't care if they build an Arab-style skyscraper in place of the WTC.
It may be a different story if this group funded Al-Qaeda or some other terrorist groups. @Alias: No one expressed my opinions more than what Olbermann said. "This is AMERICA, DAMMIT!" This post has been edited by ComeOn: 3 Sep 2010, 23:28 -------------------- Hello, comrades.
Before I start, I must ask one question: how do you think battles are won? If you answered "It just take a lot of men", then I may suggest you to leave the academy. Why will I say that? It is because battles are not won just by simply shooting down your enemies: it also takes emotions to fight a battle. Hope, courage, pride, honor, love: these are the main emotions that it takes to win a battle. Yes, your equipment, your skills, and your genetics are very important, but it all boils down to one thing: Do you have the WILL to fight? Class is dismissed. WARNING: Watching this may result in losing your manliness. Yep: I'm a rusty sword. VERY rusty. :/ |

Seriously now.
I have been saying this to you Americans and Europeans for 4 years now. Yet you always scoffed or dismissed my claims. Stop the prejudice and stop the hate. At least set an example. And this screws us gamers over too. We are just trying to have fun: http://kotaku.com/5628741/gamestop-pulls-v...ne=true&s=i Up next! Video game is banned for not having enough propaganda! If this Community Center (It's not a Mosque) Doesn't go up, I will have lost a lot of faith in some America's freedoms. This is, I think, also mildly related to the banning of Metal of Honor in Military stores (about 70 eb games and Gamestops).
I still find it incredibly Ironic that people are so incredibly pissed about this, yet there's a Shinto Shrine sitting dandily near the Pearl Harbor memorial. -------------------- |

No kidding considering the Japanese killed a lot more people with Kamikazes over the course of WW2 and caused much more money in damages. Let's not forget they are the ones that invented suicide planes in the first place. By the end of the war, they already had suicide submarines!

And they even used suicide missiles at the end of the war.
But in all honesty, that was a war, and war is hell. Although the US very much wants to have a war with radical Islam, it's impossible. You can't go to war over an idea., especially when you're a country that's most important values included freedom of speech and expression. IMO, the Japanese aren't done apologizing for what they've done, unlike the Germans, they really need to try a lot harder in that aspect. Back to the main issue: I think this outburst of Islamaphobia is inevitable since the US is probably the most pious Christian nations in the world, especially considering the fact that it's the fastest rising religion in the world and 95% of all terrorists that attack the US and it's Allies are Muslim extremists. Not the best reaction and it'll probably only make things worse, but you can't change the minds of all the conservative bigoted Tea-partiers over here in the states. This war against islam is like a war against sharks. Note the Jaws movie.
Just because sharks are sharks it does not mean all of them are man eating sharks. In fact man eating sharks themselves may live their whole lives without hurting someone, unless some idiot provokes them and puts his nose where it does not belong. Note the war on terror. -------------------- |

What's interesting is that planned massive burning of Islamic holy books in the United States. You can easily expect something worse than 9/11 if you pull this off. Who knows the after shocks that might cause?
After Americans run out of religions and minorities to hate and oppress, they will turn on atheists and us agnostics next. Ultimate proof that Christians are as dangerous and as STUPID as Muslims. Religion is a disease, a blight on the very foundations of mankind. We should have gotten over religion by the time we discovered fire and invented the wheel. -------------------- |

"Hey guys, let's send an unmistakable statement of our strength to those radical islamists...by burning the holy book of EVERY MUSLIM IN EXISTENCE, EVER!" Asking for trouble much? |

After Americans run out of religions and minorities to hate and oppress, they will turn on atheists and us agnostics next. Already the case. In the Bible Belt region of the US, if you get outed as an atheist you will apparently typically be fired, divorced, disowned and outcast. -------------------- TN

I agree about the ground zero mosque (overreaction to obvious troll) and the Koran burnings. Burning of the Koran in the united states is like people burning bibles, just as bad IMO. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if what Chyros said about the Bible Belt is true. I have heard stories of people being "blacklisted" in certain Mormon towns because they aren't mormon or they said something bad about mormons. Its pretty sad actually. I really wonder if this is going to blow over or not.

random fact: the Quran mentions Jesus' name more than twenty times, therefore burning it would also mean burning Jesus' name.
To be honest, humanity needs limits on its actions. in the contry of the free, it needs some laws to at least limit such 'freedom of speech' -------------------- |
