If Comanche is becoming an exclusive for the Air Force General, what will be its replacement for the other generals? Little Bird? Because the current Comanche works very well in the gunship role and could easily stay while Griffon gets a stealth version as was said.

Heavier chopper with lots of missiles (Comanche will have less in 2.0) as far as i remember, but Comanche will be stealthed, while the new helicopter won't. Basically a kinda-Apache in the same way as Paladin is a kinda-Abrams - not really the same vehicle but rather close to it. |

Generals Thorn and Bradley will get a helicopter that's pretty much like the -current- Comanche; however, it will be based on a different design and it won't be called the Comanche. Griffon gets the current model of the Comanche, but with a smaller missile payload and stealth capabilities. That's the plan anyway.

The Comanche version that the other US generals are getting also has rocket pods unlike the stealth variant.

I hope that it will have modernish style instead of god awful futuristic style.
When I say futuristic, I meant what you usually see in ultra sci-fic, not near future stuffs like the Hellion. If the new helicopter is like the Hellion, a modernized comanche or something from the past then it would be the best. We actually nicked-named the design after something people will appreciate. I won't spoil it so you'll have to see

Now that I think of it, assuming he's getting an upgrade on every front, I would love to know what's going to happen with Raptor/Nighthawk. So without spoiling too much, will they be replaced or improved?

I'm expecting the AH-56 or a ridiculously up-gunned version of the S-67 Blackhawk.
By the way, may the modeling team tweak the model of the Han Gunship a little bit? Currently it has a pretty large belly just like the Hind's passenger compartment, even though the ammo reserve is supposed to be loaded in there it's still looks funny. Maybe you can just straighten the tail-body connection like the Mi-28-1, the original attack version of the Hind? http://www.airwar.ru/image/idop/ah/mi28/mi28.jpg -------------------- And then...

I think I read somewhere back before that it was the beta Comanche.

Yeah, it looks like an Apache-Comanche combo. Perfect for the gunship role though.

Not very different then the current Comanche, has this Hind-ish look in the front.

The AH64 Apache is an absolute no-go for us, just like the M1 Abrams tank. These are the two most generic RL things that everyone and their dog have been putting in their mods a decade ago and we do not consider them an option. The standard US attack helicopter will indeed be based on that 'Copache'-looking Alpha concept and it'll be treated as the official successor of the Apache in-lore, meaning that the Comanche, while brought back from the dead remains of the RAH66 project - did actually enter its original function as a stealthy recon/light attack chopper in the ROTR setting while a different AH-yettobedecided - i.e. this one - took the role of America's standard helicopter gunship. And yes, I'll be named after a native American tribe. |

Fun fact: Back when ShW was still in development, we did have plans for a unique Comanche replacement for General Alexander that would have been called the Mohican. However, like a few other things we had in mind back then, it didn't take off. Generalcamo might have actually been around long enough to make that reference consciously, so thanks for that little flashback you gave me there
