Fishing tactic is obvious, but I'll bite and just say that is not even remotely close; not only that but that'd boring as hell. Well clearly, I disagree as carpet bombardment is always fun for me. Also I wasn't fishing, I'm just saying, that's what I would like to see, some sort of really destructive power besides the Pandora cannon itself. Hype is a good thing you know, one could just as easily not be interested in your work. |

This clearly warrants the return of the King raptor.
Clearly. Please. I need my fix of OP raptors! But anyways, is this the beginning of a US bombing campaign on Russia? -------------------- Composite Armor has been installed, sir.

While Medium AA can still attack the ground, JJs probably more than make up for it with HP. They have the Exos after all. but if they have the HP, is really worth landing them? they will still get hit (probably even during landing) and being slower in ground mode kinda makes better idea to pull them back flying instead however, i am awared than i am speaking from a "in paper" point of view through -------------------- |

great update! Me and my buddy have been waiting for this one.
1- I am curious though, can both suits be deployed together on the battlefield? 2- Do JJ resist explosive damage well like most infantry? 3- Is the URAL able to fire on the JJ even though they are T2 AA? Some things i cant wait to do: Frank + Valk ambushes overwhelm venom with mobs muhahahahaha -------------------- Das vidanea! |

They synergize perfectly with each other. And yeah, you can deploy both of them (1 valkyrie 1 viking max, at a time), I think it was even mentioned in the video. haha oops noticed #1 was answered a wee bit ago... but thats cuz i took a while to hit Add Reply! lol
though a few other questions came to mind.. Jarmen kell can insta-kill valkyrie while she is flying? being venom is mechanical [vehicle basically] they can be suppressed/shutdown/EMP'd, correct? Can venom be driverkilled? QUOTE You'll need HELLUVA ALOT mobs for that to happen biggrin.gif Yes and no... I simply need to lock viking down or get a bunch close enough to fire simultaneously and bam that venom will be vanquished! Overwhelm valkyre with mobs?
I dont even think thats possible unless the suit is disabled somehow.... *Meanwhile three planes drop paper on the venom as she looks at it and tries to understand why it says "YOU SUCK" standing there in confusion* -------------------- |

Since Navy Seal can't shoot at jeeps and tanks due to his weapon having 9999 damage but only works against infantry.........does that means he will be useless against Venom?
This is kinda silly, as conscripts can shoot at them well. Was this changed? And no, I'm talking about Seal getting an X whenever you order it to target a vehicle, not about damage output. It should be very weak, but weak is still better than impossible. This post has been edited by X1Destroy: 21 Jan 2014, 20:06 -------------------- We Die Standing.

Guess we'll see exactly how useful that is when the next version comes out. This post has been edited by Lobo Solitario: 21 Jan 2014, 20:08 |

Excellent update, with a nice surprise as I did not expect there to be two types of suits. I do like how the JJ's backpack is rather bulky, gives it that utilitarian but believable look.
On a negative note, as per usual requests/questions that show people are either illiterate or haven't played the mod. Also, the "one could just as easily not be interested in your work." comment nearly gave me a migraine it was so entitled. -------------------- Victorus aut Mortis!

That looks fucking awesome, not sure if I'll want that over the Manticore or Pandora since they'll be getting unique stuff in 1.85 (will the Pandora's new additions include a produceable unit?). Few questions: 1. How durable is the Venom lore-wise? It seemed to shrug off a short-range AT rocket and continue like nothing happened. 2. Would a viable tactic with both Venom suits would be to combine them with Jumpjets and attack the enemy base from the rear/flank (viking protocol picking off Tier 0 AA)? 3. Was it intentional that all of the protocols had a connection to ESA? |

Hype is a good thing you know, one could just as easily not be interested in your work. May I remind everyone that I and most of the team do this for fun and if people like our work, that's great. But at the end of the day it always comes second, could care less if people like the product or not ; the door is always there. On a negative note, as per usual requests/questions that show people are either illiterate or haven't played the mod. Also, the "one could just as easily not be interested in your work." comment nearly gave me a migraine it was so entitled. That sounds a lot like something that you're used to saying, as that is not I was implying at all. What I was coming at is that I'm insulted by your accusation, and that being excited about your work is not a bad thing, and certainly not something that gives you the right to accuse me of "fishing" for information, that's just arrogant and demeaning. What that sentence which got so much flak meant was that you're getting mad at me because I actually care, which could easily have been not the case. No need to insult my intelligence by pointing me to what has already been established; that you're doing this for fun and we're not entitled to anything.

Wonderful update. The JJ seems to be a bit outlandish but hey, it's (I'm guessing here) a homage to C&C2 unit of the same name so it's alright in the end.
and the Viking Venom are operated by Polish guys. ... So let me get this straight, effectively they are Polish SPACE MARINES! That made my dumb suggestion over at the loony bin funnier in hindsight. (I did know of the Venom's existence at the time but didn't know it is going to be Polish) Polish Space marines: because POLAND CAN INTO SPACE! Well, I guess Poland can into space after all! Holy crap !!!!!!!!
So much awesomeness, someone could have had an heart attack here !!! This protocol is awesome, ECA infantry production is normal, this combined with more ROF, health and speed makes ECA a very potent infantry centric faction when this protocol is taken. I can`t wait to see what Wolfgang`s unique heavy infantry unit can do with this protocol taken. Damn...I can`t wait to see what the changes are to the other two protocols. |

Many of us care by not saying something that is not going to happen in the mod three times in a row. You could think, one: The US already has a carpet bombing power. Two: neutron carpet bombing would be immensly overpowered. Three: The ECA already has one bomber that drops a neutron bomb ain't that enough? -------------------- |

I just watched the video a few times again, and I just love the animations of those Venoms.
And finally my ECA infantry tactics will be succesfull I guess . But because I just saw the combat pioneer in the end of the video I´ve got a question. Will the Mortar Pit be replaced by the combat pioneer? Or will they both exist? I have no idea how the new version works, and what else is different, but on the video they seem to fullfill the same roles. I mean they are both shooting with mortars from a fortified position.^^ -------------------- |

So are the Venoms going to be that big for final release?
And if they are, is it possible for a lowly scrub like me to change the size of them myself? -------------------- Composite Armor has been installed, sir.

Nice model IPS! Btw i noticed that most planes are made by IPS, tanks and infantry by hunter and buildings by Comr4de. Is that a coincidence?
Also noticed that all of you did one of the 3 protocols super units (manticore-hunter, pandora-comr4de and venom-IPS). -------------------- "How about we sing "Kyle's Mom is a Stupid Bitch" in D minor..." |

while infantry is definitely hunter's territory, and comrade was responsible for most of the russian and eca buildings, the rest of the units is basically a matter of "who ever thinks unit x is fun to make" but yea, I enjoy modelling aircaft^^ also yes, all protocol units are evenly spread This post has been edited by IPS: 22 Jan 2014, 1:31 -------------------- |

Buildings are fun to make but I did a few of the vehicle designs in some shape or form, whether or not I ended up texturing it or not. The Sentinel for instance was a drawing and design I had since Highschool (and it's gone through a few phases of designs) but usually when it comes to designing/modeling units, its whatever we feel like it's our strongest suit since we're more motivated to do so - and it shows by the speed we develop them.

That particular scene was essentially plot armour, but in realistic terms, a bunch of brave guys with RPGs can destroy a Venom, but it will still take several hits. 2. Yeah, that would work. 3. Yes, because I wanted to convey a theme in that the ECA's most advanced weapons are derived from technologies that originated from the civilian sector during wartime, thus giving the impression that the ECA is still fundamentally well-meaning and progressive by putting a greater emphasis on beneficial civilian research than military R&D (*insert obvious jab at the US*), but equally willing and able to convert these advanced technologies into deadly weapons if someone pushes them. |

This is honestly amazing work guys, you all deserve pats on the back for this.
I havnt seen stuff this good in an RTS since, well, ever. Venom is amazing looking, one of the best you guys have made, my poor sentinels Im so desperatly awaiting 1.85 Oh and how does the venom flight work? Is it a on/off switch like the hover crusader, or short trm flight like the c&c 3 zone troopers?
