Obviously I'm going to say Brazil.
I think we can have a shot and achieve a hard win like the one in 94. -------------------- |

That article is fail - USA did not win. They drew.
Personally, although I work in a sports pub, I won't be following the World Cup - but I'd like to see England win it. -------------------- |

Why does anyone believe England will win? They never won except for that one time when the referee made a wrong decision, taking Germany's victory away. But I could care very much less since sport, and especially football is really not my thing.
Oh, and I might be overseeing something, but where is the 'Other - please define in your post who' option? This post has been edited by KamuiK: 13 Jun 2010, 23:43 |

British and American press is always hilarious. I believe the british probably also have their views on this 'loss'
On the thread title. Well that is one of the bad things about a split community, as I already post around in the WC thread on FS. Added 'other' option to the poll. -------------------- |

I'm going for Argentina. Kind of a long shot in some ways, but they have the potential for it. Just for fuck's sake don't have the Netherlands face Portugal .
That article is fail - USA did not win. They drew. They won BECAUSE they drew . Put down the English names and put the American names next to it and tell me in honesty making a tie was not a good result for the Americans. -------------------- TN

Meh, I guess it was the best result they could hope for. Although USA just started time wasting towards the end of the game... -------------------- |

Well today their play was disappointing. However, in that analogy, that may actually be a good thing, as fate may leave the good play for the knock out phase.

I keep hoping Holland, but I guess they will fail in the second round as always Meh, they will probably have to face Brazil in the quarter finals, in which case we're dead anyway. Well today their play was disappointing. However, in that analogy, that may actually be a good thing, as fate may leave the good play for the knock out phase. True - Robben hasn't played yet (I maintain the Dutch team needs a lot more Robben than it needs Van Persie) and Elia was brought out way too late. Van Bronckhorst shouldn't have appeared on the field at all, bloody useless bugger. ALEEEMANIA!!! GERMANY!!! DEUTSCHLAND!!! SCHLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND DEUTSCHLAND! *clap clap clap*DEUTSCHLAND! *clap clap clap* DEUTSCHLAND! *clap clap clap* DEUTSCHLAND! *clap clap clap* ... WAS?! England may have an outside chance...Argentina, Germany and Spain all have good chances. Brazil this time is an underdog IMO. I'd really like to see Brazil or Argentina win.

That Kim dude built an invisible force field around their goal.
That goal their made at the last minute ruined most of the game for me. Kaka had no rhythm and bogged down the team too often making many plays fall apart. Juan proved again he's the best defenseman the sport has seen in a very long time. Neymar made a good impression, I hope he can get off the bench and become a main player before the cup is over. Robinho the rocket, is like the flash and is a wiseguy in the field making the korean defense look like clowns. -------------------- |

Maicon's goal was the most beautiful from a fullback since Josimar's goal against Poland is 1986
Some silly people are saying he was trying to cross but scoring is in the Brazilian DNA, every player is able to if given the opportunity. -------------------- |

I think Maicons shot was better than that one, really.
I wouldn't consider the North Korean defense 'clowns' If they were how come Brazil couldn't get through it for such a long time. Its the best defense I've seen in a long time. We (the Dutch) can learn something from that. Also big lol @ Waris -------------------- |

We (the Dutch) can learn something from that. This. With that kind of performance against Brazil, I think BEST KOREA can definitely hold their own against Portugal and Ivory Coast. -------------------- [Sources] CARAT HD-1, Sony E445, Cowon S9 [Amplifiers] PA2V2, Corda XXS, Corda Arietta [Headphones] Audio Technica ATH-AD900, Beyer DT250-80, Head-Direct RE0, Soundmagic PL50, Koss PortaPro http://www.last.fm/user/warisz00r JOIN SWR FORUMS LAST.FM GROUP |

I have to congratulate the Swiss over a superb match over Spain. I also congratulate Chile for their first global victory in over 40 years and Paraguay for causing quite a shock on those Italians.
Its nice to see the little guys shine, even North Korea a country I do not agree politically with did extremely well for a country who had not been to a world cup for almost half a century. This proves once again that football is not about budgets, its about fighting spirit and soul. Football is meant to be a game that is beautiful and exciting to watch and not be a circus. If you want faggotry go watch Circus de Soleil. -------------------- |
