I like rank system. Because you cant pop strong units early in game. And in generals you can reach all units pretty fast. And I mean on 10k money.

Multiplayer =/= Contra Mod just played a Few matches , Sooooooooooooooo Slow of matches and it become just a artillary and defense war really but the laser gen artillary is just so cool

Contra 007 is better balanced. There is some aspect of the game that many people feel that it's imbalance (for new and some medium-skilled players).
If the player plays correctly, he could beat his opponent quickly. For example, Infantry vs Nuke. If infantry rush succeeds (destroy war fact and supply), the Nuke gen is busted. If not, the infantry gen is dead. Also, Creator has devised a new aircraft controlling technique. You guys can read about it in strategy/tactic section of Contra web. Many ended before rank 3. It's up to the player to choose style of play. I think your case of slow match would be def vs def players. I've once watched two great players in a versus match and they're incredible. The match proceeded quite quickly and with intense fighting all the time. Gameplay wise its Tank-spamming until rank 5, then Super-Unit Spamming. But it is quite fun and it's something different. I don't like that every general now has a stupid picture but you will only see it on the loading screen anyway

Well there are good models in Contra, but given the vast amount of units, some units lack the quality. I.e they lack the consistent quality through out the game. I feel that SWR models have more attention to detail. But its maybe cos i have not been playing contra alot :|

I find a lot of the Contra units to have very dark, dull and boring textures.
The models are pretty nice, but it just makes gameplay kinda gloomy. -------------------- |

Contra models are really nice. Particle effects are good but sometimes they make the game slow. Combined, Contra graphic provides more realistic feeling (I do like infantry death effect since it's more fitting to combat game and the cloud of toxin and acid are great). The projectile object bullets are used so that SWG shield could block it.
