Any ideas?

BIG thanks to Skitt for fixing the problem of W10 and ROTR. Took him 10 mins and he solved it!

In the games folder by default theres a file called dx8help.dll ... its a left over from xp days and completely redundant now. it can stop the game from running with that stupid dx8 error. Make sure to remove it from both the zh folder and the generals. the issue is it doesnt always do that. for eg: it stoped yours from running
but tis still in my game folder and mine runs. its a fickle thing.

Or the other way is creating a virtual machine, but nevermind, i see it worked for you.

Though this may or may not be related to the topic. How can I stop ZH from crashing every time I alt-tab on Win 10?

run rotr in window mode from the launcher.
if you want full screen after that u can use gentools.

I have a problem with ROTR. I open the launcher and whenever I turn on SWR.net the launcher closes and the game never opens, but if SWR.net is off, the game opens and runs normally. Help?

Hmmm let's see... That could be a problem with your firewall/anti virus. Another reason but I'm not so sure could be you need to check you .NET framework version, but I don't even remember if SWR net make use of that. What kind of version are you playing with? are you using a cracked/pirated game?

reinstall the swrnet adapter, the exe's to do so are in the games folder.
