I was thinking of designing airfields that you can configure to field only certain types of aircraft to suit your playstyle(like han gunship loadouts)
In the case of the us, Bombtruck: b-1r, f-15 2040(16 amraams lol), f-111(not really sure if this counts as a bombtruck but i'll put it here anyway), ah-64 Stealth/precision(?): f-22, f-35, predator-c, comanche Doesn't really make sense. I know. Gameplay wise, is this ok? If not, why(other than the fact that it's pretty unnecessary)? And how can i improve upon this concept? |

Im going to ask; How are you going to fit a B-1 into an airfield?
Are you going the Shockwave 1.0 path where they had tiny little B-1's? -------------------- |

Best bet would be to simply butcher one runway airfield that can host only one of the big bombers at a time so this way it's semi balanced and doesn't require stupidly shrinking the aircraft or having a huge bomber fit inside a tiny hangar :v -------------------- Woo Particle effects!

I was just giving an examp... hold on. They did THAT?
Either way you get the idea. Airfields that you can set to field specific aircraft that play specific roles like air dominance/ground support or *insert appropriate word here* certain themes like precision/bombtruck depending on your situation. The up side is you have MOAR PLANES The down side is that you have to think of a thousand different roles/loadouts for each of them. Response to bruce: bigger airfields perhaps? Underground hangars? Bigger hangars? Were b-1s really that big in the firat place? This post has been edited by Jet02: 23 Mar 2017, 17:17 |

Anyway to create an airfield where you can choose what kind of planes you want to build you could try giving the airfield upgrades that switch the airfield commandset depending on which one is bought. -------------------- Woo Particle effects!

Maybe he could go the contra route with special levitation pads for oversized planes?

Just got the idea while messing around with hans yesterday. And yeah, my point exactly. |

Is there a limit to airfield capacity?
