SWR Productions Forum _ Rise of the Reds _ What happen with ECA?

Posted by: Sesa 17 Jul 2009, 21:42

I will know when SWR finish the ECA Units because i know a lot of people (in Germany and Spain)thst cant wait more for ECA!And why you dont make a Spanish General! There are not so much Games that had a Spanish general i find and Spain is a Allied from U.S.A!

I believe it was confirmed that ECA and GLA will be available in the next major release after RotR 1.5.

There's no Spain because there was only space for 3 Generals. Both the UK and Germany are known for their own unique military gear, thus they were added. The Dutch General was probably added because The_Hunter is Dutch. tongue.gif

IIRC the Solar Blast Super Weapon from ECA is rumored to be spanish in origin

Actually, wasnt this shotdown and we will have to wait for 2.0 to use them and version 1.5 is giving us the new tier system to play with?

Spain is pretty far away from the conflict anyway. Imagine Spanish troops trolling through half of Europe just to reach the front lines.

Well I think the FELIN has been confirmed for ECA, so that's one French unit.

Hey man, you can't diss the FAMAS. That rifle is legitimate.

Well, dunno if you're talking to me or not, but I didn't diss the FAMAS at all, though IMO, I think it looks kinda wanky.

I personally love the Steyr AUG, prolly why I have a full metal airsoft version of it.

But that's off-topic.

If the FELIN use the FAMAS, then the FAMAS will prolly be in the game (in the form of an incredible low-poly model that you will likely never notice).

Can you Add the German Infantry in Rise of the Reds with G36C???Its the German nacionalist Weapon!

Posted by: Rayburn 19 Jul 2009, 13:35

Germany's contribution to the ECA arsenal is more about armoured vehicles than basic infantry.

Posted by: Comr4de 19 Jul 2009, 13:52

The ECA is a mixture of all of the nations within the European Union. You will see a large variety of weapons systems that are recognizable from distinguishable nations that are used today and some that are fictional, some of these examples are the FELIN Rifleman from French military technology to the Panzerfaust infantry utilizing a new version of the Panzerfaust as well as other weapon and vehicle systems. Another fine example would be the General specific units like Wolfgangs Jagdmammut, a fictional tank destroyer developed in Germany which is based off of older weapon systems made new in ROTR smile.gif

id like to see folgore parachutists but its up to the team what they use and put in game. Anyway i think the topic should be closed or moved as its starting to get spammy.

Posted by: KamuiK 19 Jul 2009, 19:35

AFAIK the Panzerfaust Trooper uses the Milan system, which is basicly a paper box^^

Well, it's half-French, the other half is German. (I'm pretty sure it's a joint-venture between a German and a French company, can't remember the specifics).

In 1984, the West German and French governments issued a requirement for an advanced multi-role battlefield helicopter. A joint venture consisting of MBB and AĆ©rospatiale was subsequently chosen as the preferred supplier. Due to high costs, the program was cancelled in 1986, but was relaunched during 1987. Subsequently, in November 1989, Eurocopter received a contract to build five prototypes. Three were to be unarmed testbeds and the other two armed prototypes: one for the German anti-tank variant and the other for the French escort helicopter variant.
