Hey has anyone tried playing ROTR on a QHD screen? Is it even possible?, thinking about getting a QHD screen, not just for this game obviously, but would like to know if anyone has experience in that.. or has anyone played the game on a higher than 1080p monitor?

If someone has, could you post some screen shots of what the game looks like?

Thanks

i play in 1280x1024, but i think is posible to make it go to native resolution of your screen, as long you have all your drivers up to date

Thats not the answer I'm looking for sorry, I currently play at 1600 x 900, looks great, and have tried 1920 x 1080, but was wondering if anyone has gone beyond that. For example can you see more of the battlefield when at a super high res? Since that would be nice to have.

ROTR 1.85 on Mac Retina at 2880x1800 (but on a 15" laptop screen) screencap attachments are not showing in preview, so I don't know if they'll show up in this message. I'm running Win7 on MacOS via Parallels and I think there's some pixel resizing going on (but Windows Control Panel says 2880x1800 is the resolution).

I suspect that some maps might set their own resolution and camera height, but I'm not sure.

PS I edited the two larger images down to 50% of file size so it would fit in the max allowed for attachment upload here.

Thanks, this helps. Seems like not much of a difference for higher resolutions, the camera height gets adjusted and you can't actually have a big advantage with a bigger monitor. I also tried a few other things like rotating the monitor for more height, this created some cool results but the game became un-proportional and basically as it seemed like you can see more battlefield, you are actually seeing just more height compared to width, so this can be an advantage for an up-down position map but a side to side position map it was kind of bad. Also you would need to use Gentool to fix the tilt because maps get cut off.

Here's my field of view on a new 28" UHD monitor. Game is too laggy if I use native resolution.

@Zion resolution has nothing to do with height of camera, ir's stated in GameData.ini - wanna see more, edit it there. mind it's not allowed for SWR multiplayer, if i remember correctly. so bigger monitor just gives you a tank size of your palm.]
