No problem, don't mind the readme file, it is on Russian because initially it was supposed to be shared in Russian ROTR fan group. There's also an altered Boris' texture (only slightly changed though). many thanks! i thought local russian camo is similar to this, but one you show here is much better. maybe you can provide 2 screens to see in particular changes you made?(there is no screen of rusian camo in this thread so i can't really check it out myself).btw, which is that rus fan-group? |

btw, which is that rus fan-group? Присоединиться хотите, товарищ? Or I've guessed your nationality wrong? Here it is, and there are some other goodies here. As for screenshots, unfortunately I can't provide any because I have no access to my PC atm. Translation (as the rules demand): Maybe I used the wrong word when said about nationality (because it is not necessary to be from one of ex-USSR countries to know Russian), I rather meant that you likely know Russian, and I guessed right (local time is the same as in Moscow, and unlikely someone who does not know Russian will be so interested in Russian-speaking community). Anyway, there is additional content in this fan group, such as the last version of Russian language pack, so welcome. -------------------- ROTR 1.86 RUS | ShockWave 1.2 RUS | Operation:Firestorm RUS ROTR VK Fan Group => ROTR.VK <= Группа ROTR ВКонтакте |

Do you guys like the ECA woodland set? Im going to update it since im not satisfied. Going to remove the camo from the heavy sniper's hat, try to fix the pioneer's hat, and provide 1 or 2 optional pioneer retextures. Will also darken the PzShrek's camo a bit.
Surprisingly I like the Felin the most at the moment. Good idea or bad idea: make the medic helmet the same as the Felin helmet? -------------------- |

bad idea, try to keep the helmets diferent.
Mech battalian and lynx's its dificult to see whats what when the inf is en mass as it is, dif colour helmets would help a lot -------------------- |

Someone mind posting screens of the Woodland camo? I want to see if its better than the current camo I am rolling with that Imperium supplied earlier. I keep forgetting to post more. To be Honest friend, the following are direct improvements to the old textures: -Felin -Jumpjet -Possibly PzFaust. Try those out if you want a 'best-of' impression. Or try 'em all. The sniper and pioneer have minor bugs though. -------------------- |

It occurred to me today that I may be overthinking the GLA textures.
Basically all I need to do is give them decent african camos and chest rigs. Will try that out, see how it translates ingame. -------------------- |

OPTIONAL GLA Reskins. I can upload these two right now if you guys want, or I can slap 'em onto a full infantry pack later.

I need to figure out what my bloody imgur password and email are so I can do the old style previews. Anyway, hoping to release an updated ECA woodland pack today, with fixes. PS: As a joke, would anyone get a kick out of their ECA looking like this? -------------------- |

PS: As a joke, would anyone get a kick out of their ECA looking like this? Yes, I would like Helghast ECA so I can truly make a Hitler fortress. Shit man. You got my blessing on that, I would totally use it! THOUGH! You must ALSO do the ECA buildings and vehicles... it has to match the part. All you got to do is just make it a black and grey hue instead of the blue they got right now. A simple tint shift could do, you don't need to repaint the buildings- just shift the tint to a darker hue/tone. As for those GLA troopers- make the rebel's hoods house colour I reckon, as well as making their faces covered by a balaclava, also housecolour. Rest of it is fine. The RPG Troopers/Tunnel Defenders should get a housecolour armband I reckon. Otherwise they are fine. Remodel the terrorist too please. Give him a pale green coat with a biege bombpack, turban could be house colour maybe. Angry mob could get some work done to make them look more like proper civilians maybe, or at least a bit more militant... Mercs, Partisan and Hijacker seem fine to me tbh, maybe remove the Hijacker's turban and give them a toque instead, and make his coat biege instead of white so its like a beige trench coat. Jarmen I have no idea what you could do. Really the attention needed is probably the GLA vehicles. I am unsure as to ideas for those but perhaps for technicals, make them more random- as in they aren't a unified biege colour. As for the Scorpions and other tanks, maybe give them a desert tigerstripe type camo pattern? Not quite sure. Grad could use some camo for sure. Jungle or desert, either or. @GLA infantry: Those rebels and T/D's were supposed to have more housecolour, I promise. For some reason the alpha channel either didnt apply or refused to render the little details. I agree though. I might do arm-bands for both and a leg band for the RPG trooper. Im really glad you liked these by the way, MGS IV rebel troops were partially an inspiration. These guys look like they would be operators in north america/europe, or possibly south-africa; they look a lot more professional and mercenary but still give the impression of guys in civies with some tactical gear thrown overtop.
The main release line of GLA inf will look like a mashup of african warlord forces. They will look somewhat uniformed, but given ROTR-GLA's uncontested power in central africa, thats entirely reasonable. Real life African warlords can uniform their soldiers, why wouldn't a super-power do the same, especially if doing so means your troops gain camouflage, useful for the tactics GLA prefers. @GLA Vehicles: Thinking about what I could do, I've decided what might be best is if they have simple camoflage patterns on some of their stuff, kind of like this or this. I can do blotching too. Just nothing that looks too uniform or official, that would be missing the point I think. For the scrappier vehicles, I might try something difficult, giving individual parts of the tanks different camoflages. Hopefully this will make it look like the GLA ripped apart their enemies vehicles and then slapped them together again with a bare minimum paint-job. For the civilian vehicles, one goal I have is to make them look like they were civilian owned and operated at some point, but have since been worked over into GLA service. I was thinking of using a base colour coat over some stuff like the technical, then cover that coat with a new 'fresh paint' coat that was field-applied by GLA operatives by hand, not perfectly covering the base coat. Then over that, adding simple camoflage patterns, like the stripes I linked, or blotches of colour. Either way GLA vehicles wont come out until after the infantry happen. @ECA-Helghan Glory: Doing a quick grey-coating of the vehicles and adding an insignia here or there *shouldnt* take too much time. I have a way of doing that quickly via layers that should move this along nicely. Similarly the buildings should be simple to 'turn concrete' in a reasonable amount of time. Just dont expect lots and lots of pretty details like I do for infantry. Buildings + Vehicles = Literally amost 12 times the workload a infantry retexture pack takes. The US skinpack took a reaaaally long time to do well. I've been thinking of doing an ECA woodland vehicle set as well, to match these infantrymen. That at least shouldnt give me too much pause. Before all that though, there's something in my back catalogue that I havent quite yet released, but which is being worked on... It depends if I can hammer it out fast enough and if I can find good winter camos for european nations. Do many of them even have distinct snow camo? -------------------- |

NEW RELEASE.
ECA woodland infantry pack version 2 Electric Boogaloo. DETAILS: Several new country specific unit specific retextures (Danish/Austrian Panzerfausts, Swiss/Belgian/French Pioneers), mortar crew replacement (he's dutch ), Engineer helmet improvement, darkened the (german) panzerfaust's camo, fixed all of the pioneer's berets! OUTSTANDING BUGS: -Heavy Sniper probably still has hat texture bugs -The Felin sometimes is wearing a light blue ECA field-cap and I have no idea what texture causes it -Grenadier helmets use a bit of the Felin helmet texture (I think?) so they arent completely camoflaged as intended. -Grenadier kit needs a retex but didnt get one. (his weapon, specifically) -Despite best attempts the engineer does not look beautiful. Plastic surgeons and photoshoppers everywhere despair. -Literally no testing on the optional textures. They should be fine though! -Bug where the panzerfausts german flag would get covered due to his launcher animation possibly still outstanding. If so, all the other optional pzfausts have this issue too. Not really a bug, but annoying. -Hilariously the default Pioneer has a french hat or something and belgian camo. This was due to laziness. Just use one of the optional pioneers. If I update this again I'll make the default guy Dutch. -Excuse YOU Imperium but GLORIOUS SWITZERLAND is NEUTRAL *why* are their forces associating with PLEBIAN troops in the ECA?! Because you hate the lore and eat babies, probably. -the same song played on the radio three times and im going insane. Will upload in the first post. POST SCREENSHOTS OF THIS YOU WEENIES, and I'll put them on the frontpage. -------------------- |
