Checking moddb site i've seen that in the description of general deathstrike's Basilisk tank is mentioned a targeting ability that in current release there isn't.
In that release this ability is described as a shell that can go penestrating through several vehicles in line. I was wondering if you have plan to reintroduce this ability or as for now it is scrapped. Actually i'm not expecting a yes since it was a very old updates (november 2006) and your plans may have changed. Thank you for your patience. I'm annoying you with this question because i'm a fan of the micromanagement of the Basilisk with its timed shells. |

The Basilisk is an incredible damage sink, being able to take what it can dish out in pain several times over. There are no plans to add the described ability at this time, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that the Basilisk will be seeing more action in the upcoming version after a shift around in the Generals Promotion Point Menu sees it appear as a level one unlock.

You're right, Rtinger,
I'm pleasantly surprised about this new. Basilisk at level one would a dream for a fan like me, more pain in less time, yay. Thank you for your fast response |

There was a nice thread about it before the Exodus, but suffice to say, our giant lump of tank-metal that we all love (but wish was more effective) is getting some love next patch.

I like to read the Basilisk becoming a Rank 1 unlock, because the Basilisk is not only awesome at vehicles, but at buildings as well

I'd be fine with its current location on the Tier list if they actually make it effective for cost.
At the moment a pair of Marauders does more damage and lasts longer for the same price, with a shorter build-time to boot. I love 'em, but Bassies in their current form are a waste. |

Due to their extreme range Basilisks can "snipe" Humvees and other vehicles that Marauders wouldn't hope to fire shots in anger at.
They are a great damage sink as well. I wouldn't write the Basilisk off at all. -------------------- |

I have to agree.
They are also a pain (as with all big vehicles) when they can't pathfind correctly. -------------------- |

Even if you don't decide to completely spam them, a singular Basilisk can be a great asset to a normal attack force since it fills a number of roles other units don't, and besides being relatively versatile for a tank, they are quite tough.

Yeah, get some Basilisks into the enemies base and watch him being unable to do anything against the Basilisks (except he has loads of AirForce).

Err well artillery > the slow basilisk tanks tho, and since the lisk is also a very late game unit, never ever send them out alone. -------------------- |

The Basilisk doubles a midrange artillery, and apart from that, I already said before to get it in via a Tunnel.

Going through a tunnel seems to be the best way to send them to combat.

The Basilisk doubles a midrange artillery, and apart from that, I already said before to get it in via a Tunnel. It may now be called as a heavy assault gun (think of a GLA Zveroboy [the ISU-152]), as this can smash not only tanks but buildings as well. If there was a tungsten shell upgrade, then it would own enemies like the Railgun Artillery, which also has penetrating power... actually is a T28/95 Super Heavy Assault tank I'm referring to the Zveroboy, "Beast Killer", nickname of the ISU-152. The Basilisk also has some resemblance to the ASU-85 airborne assault gun. -------------------- "Not in mood...go away..." "We are going to have to act, if we want to live in a different world."
