My second attempt at creating a fan fic. During and After the Chinese annexed West Malaysia and Singapore via force.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a lovely day. Birds chirping, sun was shining brightly and the blue skies looming over the horizon. Private Yahya of the Border Regiment man a guard tower on one of the hundreds of checkpoints on the now fenced borders of Thailand and Malaysian border. After successfully ridding their northern jungles of the GLA 3 years ago, the borders have been more strict than it used to be. And it was all for the better, since crime rates had plummeted since the successful "Combat Awareness Program" that emphasizes on both the military and law enforcement to be modernized to face threats that have often had the Ministry of Defense to just waved them off to the Ministry of Homeland Affairs and negotiate. Now, it has been years and the cities was once more safe, and Malaysia is still one of the main tourist attraction in south east Asia with the lowest crime rates after the faithful event.

"Yahya! Come and take a look at this!" His friend and section leader Corporal Rosley brought him back from his pondering act.

"Isn't that a T-88G Tank?" Corporal Rosley asked as they duck behind the sandbags of the guard tower.

There has been suspicious activities on the Thailand borders recently and its definitely still going on. Yahya nods as he saw the tank via his binoculars. "If so, this isn't going to be good. Chinese are mobilizing their forces. Just as he was about to reply they heard a thunderous sound.

"ARTILLERY BARRAGE! TAKE COVER!" Cpl. Rosley yelled to his men as shells were coming down on the checkpoint.

Bits of body parts fly everywhere as the shell lands. Suddenly, a huge cheer and a thunderous battle cry were heard as they saw a battalion-sized infantry formations charging towards the checkpoint supported by several tanks, dubbed "Battlemaster" by MAF Intelligence. "Open fire!" Yahya, being the squad automatic rifleman, quickly fired up his machine gun and what remains of the soldiers operating the checkpoint continues to mount a desperate defense. Corporal Rosley kept motivating the troops to hold the line at all costs until at least several helicopter reinforcements come and relief them. Yahya continued pulling the trigger of his machine gun, stopping only to reload. As he reload his last box of 5.56 ammunition, he saw several helicopter silhouettes came from the south of the border. The Malaysian soldiers cheered while returning fire as they are finally relieved by their aviation company. But as the helicopter drew closer, it was revealed to be the Chinese copy of the Russian Hind; the Han Gunship. Armed with flamethrowers, it spews out purple-black-ish flames and despite the efforts of several soldiers to run away, almost every of the met a futile end. Yahya tried to remain silent as the helicopter hovers low enough while searching for survivors.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fast forward to the current day, Yahya is now a Section Leader and the conflict had currently shifted to the last line of defense for West Malaysia. All MAF forces stationed in West Malaysia consolidated in Johor as they tried to hold the line at least until negotiations can be held with the Chinese. Currently the Chinese had managed to destroyed most of their forces during the surprise attack thanks to their Intelligence Network and Spies within the country's Citizen.

"Looks like this is going to be it." Sergeant Lim opened up a conversation with Yahya

"Yeah. I cant believe this was even happening. First Lahad Datu, now this? Its like history is repeating itself again." Yahya replied

"But this time history won't repeat itself. I got news that our brothers-in-arms in Sabah actually managed to Hold off the entire landing party. Only got a couple of stragglers from their airborne commandos, but nothing that they cant handle." the Sergeant smiled.

Yahya focused on the Sergeant. A veteran of the Royal Rangers Regiment during the clearing operations of GLA Training camp and the Lahad Datu Stand-offs. With a thick mustache, nobody would even believe the Sergeant is actually a Chinese. They were then interrupted by a runner, Pte Johnson, an Iban descendant Ranger.

"The Leftenant wanted to see you now, Sarge."

The old Sergeant smiled

"Well, we'll continue our conversation after this things is done and over with. See you on the other side, Corporal." as the Sergeant walks towards the command post.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"GOD DAMN THESE CHINESE! THEY ARE SO MANY OF THEM!!! HOW MANY OF THEM ARE THERE?!" cried Corporal Sabtu, while reloading his burst rifle behind a sandbag.

"Mind your words, Corporal! Some of our comrades are chinese as well! We don't want them to return fire on us instead, wouldn't we?" Sergeant Lim replied.

He is manning one of the Mortar positions on the dreaded line. But as the outer perimeter falls, they were returning fire just as like their front lines brothers.

"WELL SARGE, AT LEAST YOU'RE A BAD ASS AND THANK GOD YOU'RE ON OUR SIDE!" as another Private cuts their conversation and laugh while they returned fire.

"Shit, it looks like one of the pillboxes was burned by these "Dragon Tanks"! We wouldn't last any longer than this!" cried Corporal Sabtu again.

"Just return fire, Corporal. It wouldn't help to demoralize your brothers in this situation. Stay off the damn radio if you have nothing useful to report!" Sergeant Lim replied, this time with a more serious tone. Another pillbox down, he thought. The situation's getting worse. He snapped back to reality as he heard the crackling on the old signals radio of his platoon.

"*static* units! All uni*static* we are to *static* at rally p*static* London Charl*static*peat, assem*static*" "Alright boys, we have the orders. Pull back to rally point London Charlie! Fall back to-" the Sergeant was cut short when a stray bullet hit his throat. Sabtu saw the horrid scene and scream for medic.

"Corporal, the medic is dead! We lost much of our platoon! What are we gonna do?!" asked Private Norman. Sabtu tried to think and remember his training, and a howling shell falls from a distance and burns the mortar pit they were in along with everyone else's inside.

It's a nice story. Wouldn't mind a little bit more spacing, but other than that, I'd say it fits very well into the story. We need more stories about South-East Asia. It's either Europe, Africa or America; Asia is almost entirely ignored for some reason.

If you ever decide to invade Russia, for the love of God, bring some warm clothes. We don't want you to blame the "evil Russian winter" when you get crushed, like everyone else who tried.

Keep it up! I wish the Malaysian soldiers who are fighting to defend their homeland the best of luck.

That said, if this is going to fit with RotR canon, we know how it's going to end... sad.gif

It was every soldiers duty to protect their homeland. So the they were more of like South Eastern ECA Counterpart. tongue.gif And for the faction lore, I think I'll revise it a bit again to fit into this story and the lore.

"There's a breach in the line!" The Leftenant yelled, "Yahya, take your section to plugged that hole!"

Yahya quickly relocated his position towards one of the overran positions.

"Die you commie bastards!" Yahya took a position behind a fallen tree log.

"Section, enemy infantry out in the open up front, open fire!" A hail of gunfire later took down several men wearing Khakis and Olive uniform.

"These bastards sure doesn't have a taste in modern tactical clothing." Yahya mumbled to himself.

Just as he reloaded his MG, he can hear the sound of thunderous rotors.

"God damn it. They got Hans! Take it out!"

A soldier then ran tactically behind a sandbag, carrying a Startreak MANPAD of British origin. Just as the beep sound of the MANPADs were locked on to the Gunship, he fired the missile the same time as hail of gunfire rain upon him. "The Han is down" he said with his last breathe. His helmet rolled slowly beside Yahya, who were shocked to see that another wave of infantry supported by "Gattling Tanks" coming towards them.

"Holy crap, we've got another wave of Chinese reinforcements on our hand here. We wouldn't be able to hold out any longer!" yelled a Private manning the European made GLMG.

"Get a grip, private! Remember your creed as an infantryman! We shall fight 'till the our bloods run dry through our body!" Yahya felt a slight urge of ecstasy inside him.

"Hold your fire! On my mark, we'll give these invaders how "Truly Asia" is their welcome in our homeland!"

Everybody, including the rookie TA soldier who replaced the long dead Private Richard from the Ranger Regiment, now remain in their position, waiting for the order that they eagerly want to execute.

"Hold it, just a little bit more!" Yahya estimates the range between them and the oncoming horde, his training flowing into him like water. As soon as the horde were inside their firing range, the soldiers opened fire.

"Malik! Take out that troop transport!" Yahya ordered their ATGM operator to target the Chinese copy of the BTR. The only difference it had with the Russian ones is that this was unarmed and have some sort of speakers attached to the sides. Yahya doesn't understand a damn thing what it meant, but it sure is making the PLA forces fighting like mad. Two missile launched later, the troop transport burst into flames and the attack seemed to be dwindled. The remaining forces retreated - the defenders cheered at their small victory.

Just as the soldiers let a sigh of relief - one of the privates saw the most terrifying sight on the battlefield. The so called "Granddaddy of the Dragon Tank" by MAF soldiers; the Shenlong. A Squadron of four Shenlongs supported by one Overlord with those weird speakers on top of it coming in at them at a moderate speed.

"Robert, how much missiles do we have left?" Yahya asked

"Not enough to take them all, Corporal! We need to retreat!"

Yahya let out a furious grumble, while planning on how to take the Shenlong out.

"We have to radio Leftenant Adnan. Inform them about these monstrosity approaching us. Get to it!" Yahya ordered his radio operator.

"While the rest of you! Get back in position. I have a plan. Its crazy, but its a bloody plan." He asked his section to assemble what explosives left they had with them.

"This should be enough to take at least two of them. But we need decoys." Yahya briefed his men.

Some were quite shocked at how crazy the plan was. But they got to admit. The plan -might- work.

"So we have only one shot at this. I expect zero screw ups, men." everyone nodded just as the radioman came running.

"Corporal! The leftenant said we'll have to make do with what we've got. He expects us to hold the line at all cost. At least some precious hours for the remaining flight of civilians to be evacuated to Sabah." Yahya nodded, and glanced at his men. "You heard the boss. We hold at all cost. Remember those civilians, and the brutalities of the Communists during the 1960s Insurgency. We don't wanted the same blood spilled over the same reasons again on this soil, don't we?"

The men cheered as they got into their positions. The Shenlong were getting closer to their hastily repaired positions.

"Amran, get ready, the tanks will be close. We'll provide covering fire and Osman will be the decoy. Chong, you man the GLMG. Lets get this over with." Yahya reminded them of the plan, while waiting nervously for the tanks to be well within range.

"NOW!" Both Amran and Osman ran like mad at opposing directions, and as Yahya predicted, they'd aimed at Osman since he was carrying the Gustav launcher with him. Amran now comes close to the first Shenlong Tanks. As he was prepping up the explosives, one of the crew shot him point blank in the neck. Yahya slowly watches as their friend, and only hope of defeating those tanks, were stranded between them and the tank squadron.

Yahya held back his tears, the urge he felt earlier slowly faded away, and with his fate sealed as his men returned fire with futile results. Bullets deflected from the armor of those tanks. The Shenlong is now on their inner perimeter, ramming onto sandbags and trenches, killing his men. Just as he was about to pulled a grenade, he can once again hear the thunderous roar, the ones that he once hear at the early conflict of the war in the borders. He closed his eyes, accepting the hard fate that would soon fall upon him. With much of his surprise, as the explosions were heard and he was sure that life was still holding on into his body. As he raised his head, he sees the wreckage of the Shenlong, right infront of him, with the others being flanked by Leopard tanks and destroyed. He let out a smile, as he sees the familiar flags on one of the tanks wrecking havoc on the Chinese; their Southern neighbours.
