Remember when John McClane was still going up against sophisticated criminals with elaborate plans for stealing a ton of money or gold?
Why the heck is he know barging into conspiracies involving Russians and Mi-24s like he's fuckin' Bond!? I guess it's because the actual Bond has been turned into Jason Bourne or something.

I never liked DH franchise, but this seems to look like it is watchable to me . . .
Action, bullets, explosions, non mind blowing plot, just seat back into seat grab some popcorn and
this should be fun, same as Expendables 2.

Cus Jason Bourne innovated bond. He's got to go with his time you know, and old James Bond would simply look stupid in 2012 tongue.gif

For the record, I did not dislike Casino Royale; quite the contrary. It's just that Bond movies throughout the decades always had their campy elements, be it the over-the-top villains, goofy henchmen or Q-gadgets. All of those were quite absent from both CR and QoS, removed in favour of what can only be described as a 'grittier' down-to-earth reimagining of a franchise which, admittedly, had some problems. Die Another Day still had the classic Bond style with the above-mentioned elements, but it was a god-awful movie. I like the experiment that was CR, but I'd prefer if they'd bring back some of these classic elements and add a modern, perhaps even ironic twist to them in some meta-kinda way. Otherwise, Bond will soon turn into 'generic gritty spy-thriller #23466 that happens to have a protagonist called James Bond'.

Well, if you look at the Skyfall trailer, you have a wacky villain put into a fully illuminated glass cell, mocking his imprisoners. That's quite campy, and you won't find anything like that in the Bourne movies. Maybe they upped it a bit this time again.

I'm certainly more intrigued to see Skyfall than I was during the lead-up to Quantum of Solace.

There's only so many times that they can remake that archetype and so many brothers Hans actually had I8.gif

And in addition, I don't think the believably is even a factor anymore - I mean just how MANY TIMES is ONE COP going to run into this shit, over and over and over again in the first two flicks? At this junction it's really up for grabs - and don't dare tie in that his brother is justified - boy I can't WAIT to see their long-lost brother come into play. May as well enjoy the film for what it is, meant to entertain, while still retaining and at the same time having a better image than it's previous rendition which sucked ass. I didn't like the 4th one, like at all. Very underwhelming and at least this ups the ante without making it goofy - LOOK AT ME IM SURFIN ON A JET - was utterly retarded.
