Yes there's a film.

Is it worth it?

I really liked the original premise of WWZ, this whole 'journalist interviews different people from different places with different backgrounds after the event'. This looks like another USA-centric doomsday story with other countries (Russia and Israel?) merely acting as colourful backdrops for the American heroes to fight their way through in order to find some magic plot device that lets them beat the zombies...As opposed to the original story where humanity only survived because every country enacted a contingency plan that entails deliberately sacrificing one part of the population to save another, i.e. a much more realistic, cynical take on the whole zombie apocalypse thing than 'find this thing to end the threat and maintain your moral high ground'. Plus, one of the cool things about the book was that it wasn't just about dudes killing lots of zombies. It actually tried to explore some of the broader implications of an event like this might have on the geo-political situation, how it might shape the world in a way that amounts to more than 'half the people die'.

The book was awesome, but the film doesn't seem that great, just a typical american hero saving the world

Near anything is worth torrenting. Of course you with that you will play right into the DEM FILES PIRATEZ STOLE STUFF OH NOEZ OUR PROFITS GO DOWN PRICES MUST GO UP bullshit scheme.

If going into the movie theatre for it is worth it I doubt it. I have not yet watched the movie nor read any reviews but I know a few regular movie goers in my circle of friends. If anyone of them mentions the movie I'll write here.

From what ive seen on my facebook newsfeed the movies gained the name world war zzzzz zzzzz. I listened to the audiobook and it seems the movie is going in a totally different direction compared to the novel.
