Hello everyone, we're back again with another update for ROTR development.
The Russian Kodiak has received an additional model to add a bit of visual variety for your large tank divisions. GLA fighters revel in the irony of American warplanes being shot down by their own anti-air missile systems. The FIM-92 Stinger, acquired by the GLA through their extensive black market connections, remains one of the most effective anti-air weapons even though it is almost a century old. Stinger soldiers are usually grouped in three at specific locations, nicknamed 'stinger sites', where hostile aircraft traverse often. Lately however these sites have become easier for bombers to target and destroy, resulting in the mobile Ural trucks transporting stinger soldiers between locations, and even the soldiers themselves hiding among the foliage and striking when the aircraft pilot least expects it. Because of their large Stinger launcher they can't carry any secondary weapon heavier than a personal defense weapon, most commonly a pistol. As always, we would like to remind all of you out there that there will be another 1.851 test build live stream on this Sunday: Countdown until the stream starts Also, in case you missed our last stream, you can check it out on our Youtube channel here. -------------------- |

Very nice new Kodiak model Hunter!! It looks more modern like a real Leopard counter.

I know this is just a build variant of the ingame unit, but are they different tanks lore wise?

I know this is just a build variant of the ingame unit, but are they different tanks lore wise? I would assume that Russia would hastily upgrade some of their other, older tanks in reserve once the Americans showed up and pushed them into service alongside the mainstream Kodiaks. -------------------- |

Maybe. But I think this one is much more modern and advanced compared to the usual modified T-80UM. Possibly upgraded T-90 variants.

Seems pretty much inspire with T-72 or 80 tank. Nice addition anyway.

Actualy it's losely based of a T90 turret.
It's not 100% accurate but that wasn't the intention to begin with -------------------- |

Those Kodiaks are absolutely beautiful.
So, Stinger soldiers are basically GLA Igla troopers? Is their performance any different? -------------------- |

Does this mean more variations for Russia (and potentially others)? :3 -------------------- Many thanks to IvanMRM for my avatar and Star for drawing my epic signature. You guys rock! Its looking good Maybe a third Kodiak but other than that its unlikely.Does this mean more variations for Russia (and potentially others)? :3 Variants need to have a (very) similar silhouette for things to work right and altho this is pretty easy with something as a main battle tank based on any Russian T72, T80 or T90 its not so easy with others. -------------------- |

It would also suggest that the more elite Russian army just throws whatever it can at the enemy in the same way the Chinese and GLA do rather than have a standardised, high-quality armoury.

It is also kind a realistic, since Russia irl uses thousands of MBTs,all of them being combined T-72s,T80s,T-90s,etc...

I find the stinger guy a bit too much, with these powerful aa units the gla already have.
Also the tank variants are a bit too much effort put in for such a small effect. |

Well the Kodiak is an upgrade program for the vast existing Russian tanks since the 80s, 90s era and not a new vehicle made from scratch. It is perfectly reasonable for it to have different variants.
The other vehicles are not like that. Golems and Sentinels for example are completely new vehicles. -------------------- We Die Standing.
