This kind you posted might be common in US military yes, but the visor and the head of those caps used in european countries don't look like the ones of basecaps at all I think. And that's the point of my plea. The caps of the felins look totally like baseball caps.

I like the cap model. What I dont like is I literally cannot figure out what determines their texture. Its not mapped to the rest of the Felin texture as far as I can tell, so there's some mystery texture out there that's screwing with me. Kind of like for US infantry. Instead of using the new missile defender texture for everything, US missile defenders get their helmets and textures from the old vanilla missile defender texture. Its weird.

QUOTE (MARS @ 12 Apr 2015, 1:26) *
From a story perspective, the ECA are actually meant to look less futuristic than the US. The US have high-tech and elite training as their core themes, which permeate their lineup from basic grunts up to their air force and also unlike the ECA, they are capable of ensuring this high standard for their entire military. The ECA on the other hand is a lot more conventional and, in some ways, even regressive in its themes (anti-personnel mines, indiscriminate cluster munitions and a whole lot of ugly shrapnel weaponry) and their high-tech units, the protocol ones, -only- exist due to the circumstances of the Russo-European war: ECA high command has decided to invest in flashy experimental weaponry in an effort to counter their numerical disadvantage and demoralise the Russians through a technological show of force. If it wasn't for the war on Europe's home soil, the Venom would be harmless a HEV suit, the jumpjet a commercial gimmick in limited military use by airborne specialists, the Pandora would be used to fire civilian satellites and supplies into space, their neutron bombs and nerve gas would not exist, Fenris lasers would be used for scientific purposes and the Manticore would be a technology demonstrator for an arms expo. Take away these weapons and it becomes clear that the ECA is a lot more conventional in its approach, whereas the US have all sorts of lasers, unmanned weapons with rudimentary AI, fancy guided munitions, etc.

After reading that, that does make a lot more sense. I was kind of confused as to why the ECA had all this high tech stuff while at the same time not having stuff like lasers and other gadgets the US has. Them being more or less weaponized civilian and scientific assets does fit in more with why it's all at the higher tiers.

In that case, would it be possible for the Vanguard and Delta Force operators to have the Tiberian Sun-esque armors instead? It would fit having their elite soldiers be clad in more advanced suits.

Yes, they do. I tried both PLA Arid and ECA infantry skins, and they look very awesome indeed. smile.gif

P.S. Along with the Battlemaster and Hopper, could you also do the same custom skins for all Chinese vehicles if you're up for it (possible other factions too biggrin.gif ) ??

For the Chinese, the GLA, the Americans, and possibly the ECA, sure. The Russians already have camouflage on their stuff, I would have to remove it carefully to add new camouflages to their stuff. Its a shame because I kind of want to do a Russian winter vehicle pack. Vehicle packs will come randomly in the release schedule; they actually take less time than infantry to make, since I've got a very nice system and workflow for armor. That said, Infantry take precedence. Vehicles will be a big part of the Grand Release, which will only happen once every faction has been touched up.

...maybe. On a case by case basis sure. The Han Gunship for instance, is on my list. Possibly our favorite blimp-ship too. Infact, the Chinese Mig is going to be looked at too.

America however will only see its gunships/helos get touched, and even thats up in the air. (HAH puns)

GLA Aircraft... you know what maybe. Not for their little crop duster helos though.

ECA Aircraft are beautiful and wont be touched at all.

I feel mostly the same for the Russians too, although I really want to change stuff with their gunships.

I downloaded your infantry for China, looks QUITE nice. I must say. I might toy around with interchanging the odd camos and mixing and matching; but im liking it so far.

Have yet to try out ECA but I did download it, gonna see how much I like it when I do a round with em.

What do you think about an Aeroflot "commercial" Hunchback?

Thank you very much my friend! Releases will slow down now sadly. I put out a ton of content in a short period of time though. Russians to be done within the month.

Maybe the devs know how to solve this?

EDIT:

One little issue though:

The ECA Panzerfaust is missing in that pack! Could you reattach please? keke.gif

Missing PzFaust guy is fixed. Sorry about that. He had a different filename, and it was probably super late when I uploaded. Try it now.

Guys, I need help:

Please suggest camoflages for Chinese vehicles, preferably in a format like this.

Please suggest camoflages for the GLA. You can just type their names if you like. Ideally suggest plenty since they'll be a weird eclectic mix of stuff.

Please give general feedback, especially on the ECA.

Comments and criticism are always welcome in this thread. Requests will be listened to and sometimes acted upon.

Or just keep on posting. I love coming back to this thread to see discussions and chat with people. Keeps me motivated.

ECA is great I think, much better than the original ones, same goes for China and the Battlemasters anyway.

The question about ECA's pattern would be if you are going to keep up the blue "team colour" of them or if you wish to do it as realistic as possible. If the latter is the case, then they should become more greenish than grey. Especially since ECA is fighting mainly on european ground (which makes things like desert camo obsolete).

Couldn't find anything chinese which you don't have already unfortunately.

Other than that, although that's not China but if you ever consider doing Russia as well (or as inspiration for China)

Good selection of russian camos here, alas I need stuff for china at the moment. Thank you though! I appreciate everything.

@ECA & Realism: I'll include a 'national' pack for the grand release as an option that will make all ECA infantry wear their relevant national BDU's. Panzerfausts will wear Flecktarn, Felins will wear Lizard camo, Medics/Grenadiers/Heavy Snipers(?) will wear whatever standard woodland the british use nowadays, etc. There probably -wont- be a desert or a snow pack though, so your troops will always wear woodland. Just assume the ECA is having supply troubles with its uniforms or something. I am of the personal opinion that the ECA probably wears an organization wide uniform and thats what my textures represent, however mars himself has suggested using national uniforms, so that will definately happen.

Im going to do a media blackout on USA skins for the moment. Here's some interesting info though:

1. Future warfare will be a big part of the primary USA skin set. Hint: I've been inspired by a certain video game...

2. There will be ACU optional versions of the Ranger/Missile Defender.

3. There will be many more options for the USA than other factions, most of these wont make it until the grand release though, so you wont see them for a while.

4. The skins I previewed here before will all be heavily modified or outright replaced.

Can I have a link to of those skin I really wanna seem em.

I didnt even see this. I cant make any guarantees outside of saying the United States' infantry will look like what would have happened if the US future soldier program was a reality. tongue.gif

Whenever I search"future soldier" up, I also get links to "Future Solider 2030" as well.

I take it you'll be modeling the armors off of these concepts?
