So, I got bored recently and made an Artillery unit for USA.



Feel free to use it in your mod!

Making this IFV based on the AT22 Hunter from CNC4! smile.gif

With a SABOT Shell and a Special Purpose shell.

Map props is something that really is very much needed now in the mods because players simply do not like to always see the same things, then you're doing great work in this regard. wink.gif

So far I plan to release the map props as soon as I have a nice pack. Feel free to suggest things for the map pack!

Does the increased detail slow down in-game rendering? i would think it would but there has to be some balance between cosmetics and performance. I suppose Level of Detail settings in the Options panel affects this as well?

Technically an increase of detail (more polygons) will always slow down ingame rendering. However the amount of polygons is still rather low and current PCs should have no problem at all. Since you would probably play Generals with a capped framerate (somewhere between 30 and 60 fps) anyway, there wouldn't be any slowdown at all. In fact, even 10 times the polycount on a single unit would probably still run fine.

EDIT: I almost forgot: that's a really nice model xD

I also love your Crusader rework,it looks real interesting.I would love to see it with some more appropriate skin.

The details you are adding are good but they aren't made very well and look rather cheap and lazy.

I like your Crusader/Leopard hybrid smile.gif But barrel texture is unconvincing.Anyway rest of textures are huge leap from ones on previous models.Great Work.Keep em up.

Did not realize about the turret streching. Thanks Hunter for pointing our, same as barrel which is now fixed!

Currently I am working con this Paladin tank, note the cage textures are just placeholders and the main texture is not finnished.



I would like to recreate original General's USA texture, but everytime I try to remake my base texture it ends looking almost the same. Does anyone have anykind of advise to make some base textures just as Generals one? biggrin.gif

You should try reskining it into ECA colors.

That doesn't look like ECA's colors at all. Too blue. Liked it more as a US vehicle.

I highly advice you too push yourself when it comes to skinning, be rigorous with yourself, even if it takes severals attempts on a particular area of the model to make it share the same style, or to have a unique but still look awesome.
