Hello,
I got Windows XP that is now 4 years old, and I have the First Decade with unofficial patch 1.03 Revision 4. I recently reinstalled Zero Hour, and it runs very well with good graphics. But as I downloaded and installed Rise of the Reds, and tried to start it, I got this message: http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/3019/rotrerroe.jpg The picture shows that the path is EA Games\C&C Generals Zero Hour I installed the mod also there just to try if it works there, but the same problem is with EA Games\C&C The First Decade\C&C Generals Zero Hour folder. Also I prefer simple .big file when it comes to mods. I have played the Tiberian Dawn Redux mod version 1.3, that came with same kind of launcher system as Rise of the Reds, but that mod worked very well with me. Can anyone help me fix this problem, since this mod really got my attention as soon as I heard of it These are my system things caught by XFire: Manufacturer: FUJITSU SIEMENS Processor: AMD Sempron Processor 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz Memory: 512MB RAM Hard Drive: 160 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6200SE TurboCache Monitor: HP L1908w Sound Card: Realtek AC97 Audio Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254) This post has been edited by CnC_Fin: 5 Jan 2010, 11:34 |

[...] I have the First Decade with unofficial patch 1.03 Revision 4.[..] That may be your problem right there. ROTR is only compatible with Zero Hour's Official 1.04 patch, (Edit: Forgot you had TFD) Hope this helps. Also, what version of ROTR are you trying to play? I'm running 1.5 RotR, as the topic title says. And The First Decade unofficial patch 1.03 shouldn't affect any of the games, except by that they don't need disc to play. But I'll try to reinstall TFD and won't install the unofficial patch. Hopefully it works.
EDIT: I got advice that renaming the .GIB files into .BIG would do the trick. Well it did, but the game crashes after SWR Productions logo in the loading screen... This post has been edited by CnC_Fin: 6 Jan 2010, 14:16 |

Now I uninstalled TFD, and reinstalled it and restarted computer. After that I installed RotR 1.5, but I still got the same messages as before. Even the renaming of .gib into .big didn't work, just crash again.

Sounds like you don't have the correct drivers for your video card or something.
That error you are encountering is usually fixed by using the "Repair ROTR" Option from the menu. -------------------- |

I got it working now! It's awesome :D
I did virus scan and it did find 1 virus there. I (once again) installed RotR, and won the USA as Russia |
