Once i installed in my comp( windows 7), I saw a flash of a command screen and then it disappeared. I checked in this forum and related topics but couldnt solve it even though I follow the suggestion such as uninstall and reinstall. I do not have mods prior to my install. What can I do? I want to play so much...
Thanks in advance. |

I had this problem and what I did to fix it was copy the RotR folder to the desktop and re-launch it, for some reason it'll only work if RotR's folder is on the desktop.

Do you have an RC/Beta version of Windows 7?
In most cases it works fine if you have the latest/legitimate version -------------------- |

Sorry, I don't understand what do you mean by that. I copied all of RotR's folders on desktop. But it still did not work. Can you explain to me? Do you have an RC/Beta version of Windows 7? In most cases it works fine if you have the latest/legitimate version Mine is Home Premium. |

What Noh is saying you must do is as follows;
1) Run the ROTR installer for 1.5 2) When asked for an install location, select the desktop 3) Once the files are written to the desktop, copy them to your ZH folder. 4) Run ROTR -------------------- |

I did that and copied them in my ZH folder under First Decade and I got execution error, (couldn't specify file). |

Was that when you clicked on the launcher in the start menu?
Because those will not be linked up properly. Go into your ZH folder and find Rotr_Beta.bat Open that file and it should run Rise of the Reds. If that works I'll talk you through re-aligning the shortcuts from the start menu -------------------- |

Right, next thing, you need to submit a screenshot of your Zero Hour directory.
So I/we can have a closer look and may find the root of the problem. See this topic for a similar issue regarding the files in the ZH directory This post has been edited by Pickysaurus: 13 Jan 2010, 20:40 -------------------- |

I will post them up asap. Just asking, is it necessary to install RoTR 1.0 then only install 1.5?

Shouldn't those files be in the actual Zero Hour folder? I don't have TFD installed right now so I can't be sure.

Ok i have the same problem. I also have windows 7 and i tried doing all of the above but i get the same result. i double click and a black window shows for a split sec (it even doesn't give me any time to read the error) then disapers and nothing happens. I've tied installing it in the C:/Program files/EA Games/Command & Conquer the first Decade folder doen't work. I've tried intalling it to the desktop (draged the files to the right folder) as well as C:/Program files/EA Games/Command & Conquer the first Decade folder/Generals Zero Hour but it doen't work. I just think this mod desn't work for windows 7 yet till a new patch or version comes out. But i'll keep trying soto see if there is a differnt way around. Any other ideas?

Indeed wrong folder Copy the files in the ZH folder To quote Wi-Ta. Merge the ROTR files into the folder your ZH files are in, then click the file I marked: http://sadpanda.us/images/89312-E5QPZ5B.png If it still not works, then I do not know, since I do not own TFD. |

Actually to simplify things, just use the Browse... button in the installer and choose the ZH folder.
