So hello there people!

Look! I'm using the forums and not discussing it on discord! Let's see how much responses we get!

Soooo recently with SWR being down, I had the chance of playing the game I've been looking forward to playing for a while, this if you watched my twitch is Civilization Beyond Earth

After playing it and getting a good taste of it all, I decided to see if there's any DLC's, there are Rising Tides, It adds some new civilization (sponsors) and mechanics, very much needed changes, Im all for that

The second DLC was a map pack dlc that gave some new maps but honestly being new to the game as I am and the game always looking alien (I guess that's the point with the game being about space and all) I cant say I felt the difference but hey at least I wouldn't be missing out on anything.

Now there's the Interesting part:

After the game launched or something they released another game; Sid Meier's Starships...Now here's the thing
This is its own mobile game on IOS and its on steam (I'm not sure if it was for pc on launch) Its a game that takes place after Beyond Earth, apparently your not the only planet that got colonized and you go to space yadda-yadda fight for your ideology in space. Its not an amazing game but I do enjoy the strategy, It's like a simplified battlefield gothic that's also turn-based. (No Aliens Im afraid, so no mASS Effect type action)
Quite limited for a PC game but decent for a Mobile game, so far I played 5 hours of it and got like 77% of the achievements

So where am I going with this? Well alongside the ability to continue your Beyond Earth game in Starships and Starships also supporting the Hybrid paths (There's 3 that can make hybrids one up to 6)

Heres the Important part: If I do somethings In beyond earth, I get perks in starships like new planets or perks or wonders...
Meanwhile, If I do things in starships I get new perks that I can select from the start.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I can't really decide, It's not a "BUY INFINITY WARFARE TO PLAY COD4 REMASTERED" kind of thing and its somewhat hidden, the game and this feature like it's not mentioned on the page and I didn't see many people talking about it.Maybe it used to be a big deal when the games first came out but not now.

I have to play starships to get my Beyond Earth special choices for perks, which I really do want...At the same time If I play beyond earth, I get some extra things for starships
(Not that I'll probably play it after I unlock BE stuff, It's decent but not there to hook me)
What do you guys think? Like Im happy that Beyond Earth after is first DLC, game that somewhat failed got new content but its like this? Two games (One for IOS/PC) promoting each other?

Second mini topic: I see that some games constantly try to make mobile platforms work alongside your main game, I heard this was a thing for GTA 5 for your dog? Also, MGS 5 had this for the PS4 only but I never really used it.

Do you like this sort of double device feture or to perhaps continue your game or help your main game with this? I dont think theres DLC's in any of the examples I mentioned, Including starships
